Baby with no name !!!

So I have a 3 week old dear little baby boy born Valentine's day... still without a name !

(poor bear !)

But I'm just really struggling to decide what to call him !

He has a 6 year old brother named Gabriel with whom I had no trouble naming whatsoever ( as it's my favourire boy's name)

I'm looking for something with a romantic link and I do like names with lovely meanings. Also something a little different but not too faddy/celeb..that can be shortened and something that stands up to Gabriel.

So .. my short list is...

Rafferty ( Raffy/Rafe)
Rafael (Raffy/Rafe) - son's favourite (Also an archangel like Gabriel)
Theodore (Teddy/Ted/bear) Means gift of god.. and is saintly
Roman (Romey/Rome/Manny) Valentines was a roman festival.
Romeo (Romey/Rome/Manny) obvious valentine link... but maybe too obvious !

Middle names - Would like to use William or Melvyn or both.. (Mine and partner's Dads)

And/or maybe a combination with the first names that don't get chosen.

ie. Rafael Theodore Melvyn Hopkins
Roman Theodore William Hopkins

I really would appreciate your feedback... as it's getting beyond silly now !

Romeo,yea it’s too out there.
I think a good name test,imagine yourself shouting (insert name) come on time to go
Think hard do you expect to see a child or big bounding dug approaching you
Romeo I’d expect an effete labradoodle not a wean

From your list I like Roman, or Raphael - definitely ph not f :)

I love the name Raphael but I just showed my DS (3) the photo and the options and he thought Rafferty.

Rafferty William does sound lovely

Yes.. I too think that Valentine is beautiful.. but not sure he would when he's older..

Romeo was one of my favourites.. but Daddy said he'd get battered with a name like that ! 😏

Yes... we had considered Arthur! As my Grandad was Arthur
But there is already a little boy named Arthur linked to the family..

Also wasn't sure if it was in the same arena as Gabriel....

also ladies.... would it be Rafael or Raphael

Congrats!

I don't think Raphael and Gabriel sound that great together. I prefer Roman or Theodore.

Congratulations, he’s gorgeous! Rafferty is my favourite, I also like Raphael (you might get some two angels comments but I think that’s actually really cute). Theodore is nice too although very popular near me, not that that’s a bad thing, just in case it bothers you. Can’t stand Roman and Romeo personally but we all have different tastes.

If you’re leaning towards Raphael Theodore then I think that’s lovely!

Yep. He looks like a wee Raffy Bear to me- Raphael Theodore for sure. Congratulations he is adorable.

We've actually been calling him stickman Grin poor baby ! (5lb9 little pudding) and bear. And yes we do like teddy/bear

It's just my son's favourite is Rafael by a mile...

Mine was originally Rafferty...

We quite like the idea of Rafael Theodore ... as he could still have bear in the name ... 'Raffy bear' as my son likes to call him !
