Genevieve, Alma, Margot, Liv, Eliza?

And do you have any strong negative opinions towards any of them? (Like do
you consider any of them to be too common/pretentious/ugly/anything)

Thanks! Smile

I like all of these names and have one of them on my list of names.

I have a family friend called Eliza Elizabeth but everyone calls her Lylie.

Lylie is a cute nn.

Genevieve - I think "my sweet Genevieve". I also think "there's a name a child is going to have fun learning how to spell".

Alma - I think Coronation Street and Alma Pudden, the bullied fat girl from Malory Towers or St Clares

Margot - A lovely name, I might initially think of the Good Life but also Margot from Despicable Me and Margot Fonteyn. It sounds glamorous.

Liv -Pretty but ore of a nickname in my opinion, should be short for Olivia or something

Eliza - Again I would say this was short for Elizabeth. It sounds a but harsh to me, like a scullery maid in a Victorian novel.

Tessa - I actually think this is OK as a name on its own, despite my last two comments!

Liv Eliza and Tessa are gorgeous. However I do take minty's point about Liv being unfinished. So I'd put full names on the BC
Elizabeth.
Olivia
Teresa.

I detest Margo. It makəs me think of Maggots.
Alma is awful and frumpy
Genevieve is too middle class for me.

Genevieve, Alma, Margot, Liv, Eliza...

Genevieve - long and romantic sounding with an abundance of Nickname possibilities.

Alma - short to the point, retro sounding.

Margot - lovely name, vintage style.

Liv - short with a good meaning, modern sound to it.

Eliza - Edwardian style name with a spunky sound.

ChocolateCrunch · 27/02/2018 14:52

I like Margot and Eliza. Not keen on Liv, as it sounds like a nn for Olivia. Tessa, Alma and Genevieve - not sure.

Genevieve, Alma, Margot, Liv, Eliza, Tee - sextuplets i assume.

Genevieve has her head in the clouds, long hair, daydreams a lot, sweet and happy and a bit hippy as she gets older, flirty and lots of male friends
Alma I'd the plain sister, she's very serious and bossy, this doesn't change as she gets older. Short Brown curly hair. Doesn't every wasn't to get married.
Margot is the super smart one, glasses, says "actually..." alot. Hair in a bun, sensible frocks, doesn't really talk to boys as they're a distraction. Headed for Oxbridge.
Liv, the little whirlwind, she's super cute and gets away with a lot. She's always hanging out with the boys and demands to go to scouts not brownies
Eliza, the prettiest one, sweet and loving she looks after the rest, deal with boy troubles and bullies alike. She'll go on to have her own large family.
Tess, never home, always climbing a tree or looking for bugs. Prefers animals to people but generally an easy going child as long as she's not kept in for too long.

Genevieve grew up to be an environmental activist then an environmental consultant.
Alma is a high ranking PA but frustrated by her lack of power.
Margot is a top research scientist
Liv is bread of a large construction business
Eliza has gone into paediatric nursing but will take a long period out to have kids.
Tess works for the BBC on their new nature series, jetting all over the world to film newly discovered creatures

Tessa - fearful child who grows into an anxious adult. Likes to follow rules and is scared of breaking them, a people pleaser, puts others before herself and is unhappy but lives with it

Tess however would be friends with Liv and Eliza and be a little wild but very educated

Lucylululu · 27/02/2018 14:28

@17caterpillars1mouse what a wonderful answer! Loved reading that! Grin

Genevieve - a girl who is posh and spoilt, has no idea of the value of money and judges others harshly for being 'poor'

Alma - a tomboy whose best friends are all boys. She likes climbing trees and playing football at the park, has a quirky, colourful dress sense. Intelligent but hired it somewhat

Margot - has really pushy parents but just wants a quiet life. Does lots of extracurricular activities but would rather be at home reading a book. Very mothring of younger siblings

Liv - fiesty and fun loving, has a really sense of adventure, ibtelligent but not book smart, ambitious, aninal lover, wants to travel the world

Eliza - Liv's slightly more sensible best friend. Has a strong moral compass but likes to have fun. Adventerious but cautious. A thinker and planner

FuckyDucky · 27/02/2018 14:20

I know two Elizas. One is E-leez-a and the other is E-lize-a, I got them mixed up every time! So pronunciation may be an issue.

Love Margot and Liv.

Alma is nice actually, unusual but not wacky.

Genevieve also really nice.

Lucylululu · 27/02/2018 14:19

Oh and I forgot to add Tessa to the list!

Liv feels a bit unfinished.

I like Margot, Eliza and Genevieve.
