Thought we had firmly decided on Isolde but now we seem to be reconsidering....!

Other names now being considered
Tristessa
Astrid
Sapphire (this is DH choice becase of a 70s tv show he loves)
Magdalena
Alethea/ Althea

Id welcome suggestions of similar names I might not have thought of and also thoughts on these names and which I should rule out.

Thanks!!

I prefer Iseult/I sold, though.

I have boys, but loved Angharad, for a girl.

None. Romanticism doesn't exist. Just pick a name that will sound fine when she gets with Wayne aged 18 who thinks taking her to football is a great date............

bridgetreilly · 28/02/2018 22:22

If you like Xanthe, you might also consider Ianthe.

Baubletrouble43 · 28/02/2018 22:20

Rosalie is lovely. Also love Rosalind Rosamund etc.

bridgetreilly · 28/02/2018 22:20

I'd stick with Isolde, personally. The only other one of your choices I like at all is Alethea, but I don't love it.

Beatrice is a beautiful name.

But Isolde is best of all.
Not Tristessa, I really think that is bad.

I like both Astrid and Isolde.

How about:
Cressida
Cassandra
Juno

Aurelia

windchimesabotage · 27/02/2018 19:07

Ariel is lovely but the little mermaid is too well known for anyone to think of anything else. Even if they know it from the Shakespeare play they will still probably think of the little mermaid too.... and then theres the washing powder :-(

Topaz I love but my DH dislikes.
Tatiana is going on the list!!
One of my friends has called their daughter Xanthe so that is out.

Before reading your OP I was thinking of Iseult. I prefer it to Isolde.
