Thanks everybody!! I actually thought more people would say no, but quite a few have said it's fine for a girl Smile

Sounds absolutely unfeminine. Other people have used it for girls, but yuck. It's a surname.

MascaraSnake · 23/02/2018 22:42

“You used to call me on my cellphone”

Ah shit, wrong person.

Alisvolatpropiis · 23/02/2018 22:38

No

Glumglowworm · 23/02/2018 21:19

Boys name or surname to me. I only know one Blake and he’s a male

selftitledalbum · 23/02/2018 20:47

No

FartnissEverbeans · 23/02/2018 20:45

I prefer it for a girl. It's a lovely name

Afternoon · 23/02/2018 18:34

I think of it as a boys name or surname.

toomanyweeds · 23/02/2018 18:33

It's not to my taste (boy or girl) but absolutely fine to use for a girl if you like it.

Tors33 · 23/02/2018 18:17

Love the name I called my lil boy it

AuntieStella · 23/02/2018 18:15

I'd expect a Blake to be a boy. Both the baby one I know in RL, and Julie Andrews' husband

Helpimfalling · 23/02/2018 18:14

Love it

DramaAlpaca · 23/02/2018 18:13

Boy's name or surname to me. I really don't like it for a girl.

But your baby, your choice.

HotCrossBunFight · 23/02/2018 18:12

I think it's an ugly name

Annabelle4 · 23/02/2018 18:11

I know a boy called Blake, but I think it's perfectly fine for a girl

mondler · 23/02/2018 18:09

I think it works. Unisex names seem to be getting more popular in RL...

HonkyWonkWoman · 23/02/2018 16:18

Blake - boys name.
Not a good name for a girl. Just imo.

I would think Blake was a boy but it is a unisex name. Like you said, Blake Lively.

Leksa · 23/02/2018 12:30

Completely a boy's name or surname to me, sorry!

pipilangstrumpf · 23/02/2018 12:25

Blake sounds fine for a girl

DPotter · 23/02/2018 12:18

Sorry to dampen the mood - but to me it's a surname and I'm not keen on surnames as first names, and when they are OK I think they are more suitable as boys names, eg Jordan.
Another reason I cringe a little at Blake - 'On the Buses' there was a character called Blakey and I really don't like Blakey

Cosmoa · 23/02/2018 12:11

Absolutely fine for a girl!

Jumblebee · 23/02/2018 11:26

I love Blake for a girl (probably because I love Blake Lively Grin)

Willowwisp23 · 23/02/2018 11:25

It is my dd2's middle name. Husband chose it due to his love of Blake7 (which I had never heard of)!
