How many Florence's do you know (younger ones) and what nn do they go by if any?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Achafi · 21/02/2018 22:21

2 in my swim class, babies under 1 and a friend had one last week nn Flo.

Glumglowworm · 21/02/2018 22:18

One, she’s about 8 or 9, nn Flo

Honey456 · 21/02/2018 21:12

I don’t know any! Although I don’t know many babies in general. Which is one of the reasons we are thinking of calling our daughter Florence. It’s a beautiful name.

It’s a tie between Florence or Grace currently. :)

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 21/02/2018 20:11

One, aged 4, known as Florence or an unrelated nickname.

MsSquiz · 21/02/2018 19:26

Florence was my beautiful gran's name and is one of my favourite girl's names should we have a girl when we start TTC. It was also the name of my wedding dress, funnily enough
She always went by Flo or Florrie, but I do also like the nickname Flossie, and the full name would be Florence - Amelia.

Eilasor · 21/02/2018 10:55

Just one - a school friends daughter, nn Flo sometimes - must be about 10 now.

lozbeth · 21/02/2018 09:35

2

masktaster · 21/02/2018 09:34

One in year 8 - Flo
One in year 3 - Florence
One born last year - Flo

Probably others I've forgotten, but can't recall any that aren't Florence/Flo

WaitrosePigeon · 21/02/2018 09:30

I know three, including my daughter. She’s Florence, we don’t shorten it.

NewSingleMummy · 20/02/2018 23:27

My daughter was born Spring 2016, was meant to be called Florence until I knew 5 yes 5 other people name their babies Florence.. I was gutted

Littlechocola · 20/02/2018 23:02

No children but one in her 30’s. She’s very beautiful.

DazzlingMilton · 20/02/2018 22:59

5 off top of my head, 4 are under 5yo

Enidblyton1 · 20/02/2018 22:55

Just realised I know more Florence's than I thought.
3 under 10s - known as Florence, Flo or Flossie (seems to alternate depending on mood)
1 18 year old always called Florrie

1 late 30s, always known as Flo
4 aged between 40-60 - all French or Swiss and known as Florence.

SwinginFromTheChandelier · 20/02/2018 22:42

Loads, but I'm a sports coach! Normally Flo or the whole name. Home Counties.

BlackberryandNettle · 20/02/2018 22:07

Two little ones. As far as I know they are just Florence

splendide · 20/02/2018 20:09

1 2yo Flo

SuperBeagle · 20/02/2018 20:08

I only know older Florences (80+) and one who's my age (early 30s). All of them go by "Flo", which is what resoundingly puts me off the name.

littlepooch · 20/02/2018 17:52

4 off the top of my head.

1 is a friend so in her 30s.
The other 3 are all under 2

SleepingInNewYork · 20/02/2018 17:48

I know four and they go by Florence, Flo or Florrie.

abivelvet · 20/02/2018 17:47

Four, aged between 1-9. It's very popular these days, Flo is the common nn.

Smellybluecheese · 20/02/2018 17:44

Two. And it’s my daughter’s middle name.

DelphiniumBlue · 20/02/2018 17:41

I think there is one in 7 out of the 8 classes I teach (7-11).

Songofthesouth · 20/02/2018 17:40

Oh actually one goes by Florrie

Songofthesouth · 20/02/2018 17:39

Florence is definitely the most popular girls name in my area. Most of them are still only babies and go by Florence but one or two have been shortened to Flo.

Isadora2007 · 20/02/2018 17:32

Two- an 8 year old Flo and a 4 year old Flossie.
