What are peoples thoughts? Its a name that both me and my husband like out of our lists.
Not sure what it would get shortened to however? Maybe Izzy which im not so keen on.
Anyone called Isolde or have a child called Isolde... what do you get called as a shortened version?

I know a baby Isolde too, it's sweet. Not sure I've heard her called by any nicknames so far but no one seems to have any issues with the name.

Maybe stay away from Izzy, there are tons of those from all the little Isabellas.
Zollie is really cute but I'd just see what naturally develops, that's the best way with nicknames.

My friends daughter is Iseult. TBH I've never really liked it (they pronounce it IZ-ULT which I fine quite harsh).

Isolde is the later German version of the original Celtic Iseult/Yseult.

Love the orginal Celtic versions - much more beautiful.

Don’t like Isolde - too like Isobel which is boring and overused.

I’d stick with the original personally.

Really love it. Beautiful and cultivated and rare.
My only thought is, whether it a “blonde” name that won’t suit a tanned brown haired DD? What do the Isoldes look like that people here know?

The Welsh form is Esyllt, and is brilliant, but unless you are Welsh speakers in a welsh speaking community it's not so good.
Tristan makes me think of AA Gill.

Yseult could be an alternative but pronunciation might be an issue.

I quite like Zolly actually yes!! Was thinking of Dolly which I do like but reminds me of the sheep.... so Zolly is a good alternative

Beautiful! Underused in my name, and a lovely alternative to Isabella/ Isobel.

The Irish version, Iseult, is top of our list for DC2.

It sounds like 'Is older'.

I can imagine that in school there wil be a lot of Ava 'is older' than Freddie. And your DD will be continuously correcting people and clarifying her name.

Cousin of a friend is an adult Isolde. Never met her as she lives on the other side of the country, but they sometimes refer to her as Zollie and Zolla. Issy probably nicer as a nn imo.
