Adeline could be pronounced either Ad-uh-leen, Ad-uh-lyne, or Ad-uh-lin. Ad-uh-lyne sounds like you’re saying ‘add a line’. Ad-uh-lin sounds like you’ve missed the M off Madeleine. It also makes me think of Adderall, the ADHD drug.

I’d go with Margot.

Margot- because I loved The Good Life, and because Adeline makes me think of barbershop quartets singing 'Sweet Adeline'. (However I suspect I am in a vastly different age bracket from the OP and her friends who probably won't get that reference Smile)

I know an Adeline who pronounces it Ad eleen. Either way it's still a lovely name.

Margot reminds me of the Good Life. Wasn't the snobby neighbour called Margot?

We're stuck on girls names (we have a boy name sorted). I love Adela but hubs doesn't. I was toying with Adelina as it's similar and very pretty.
