I don't think so, OP. Ivar is pronounced Ee-var, whereas Ivor in Britain has the "eye" sound, not the "ee" sound.

Think it just depends on accent OP - some people would pronounce the R at the end of a word and others not. Not so much two different versions of the same name, if that makes any sense.

Ivor is sometimes pronounced Iv-orr (I like the I in big, orr like in lorry) in Wales. This may be because the welsh name Ifor was given to a baby boy but registered as Ivor, the anglicised form.
Ivor is usually pronounced like in Ivor the Engine.

I only ask as I have a son named Ivor and we pronounce it I've a, but other say I've or, which is fine and what I expected, as I thought there was two ways to pronounce it, but is it only I've a if it's spelled Ivar which is The Swedish version I think.

Worried I've spelled my sons name wrong for the last 5 years!!!!

I'd say 'I've a' but in a rhotic accent it would presumably be Ivorr or approximately Ivurr.

Eye vur - Without emphasis on either syllable. I'm Irish if that matters.

It also doesn't sound like "I've a..." in my accent as I pronounce the R.

Ivor could have a sister called Iona but this would be best if your surname could also be a noun e.g. Castle, Forest, Gunn, Wood, Woodcock, Hill.
