I am looking for boy name suggestions. 😊Thank you for your help.

( I would not go for names like Daniel or Michael )

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Tartyflette I lived in Dalston 15 years ago before it was hip - I'm a hipster, aren't I? live in rural Oxfordshire now

Stu - everyone knows Stu is just the coolest guy ever. Everyone want to hang out with Stu.

Perhaps you need to think about what names are seen as old fashioned but will be due a revival soon, to be ahead of the curve. The names I saw as 'old man' names like Stanley, Archie and so on have had their day, so maybe move onto names like Darren, Kevin, Lee, Paul?

But Balonz is my personal recommendation Grin Or maybe Guinevere, like the Modern Parent's youngest son?

Alpaca thanks for sharing the Balonz thread.

But it has to be this: Tarquin

People I know who think they're hip (but obviously would never say that) call their sons Arlo, River and Fox. Arlo is top 50 now so clearly cannot be a hipster name.

I agree with pp, to be truly hipster you need to be ahead of naming trends. Ian, Brian, Mark, Dean would be good choices. Parents of Vincents and Raymond's are probably true hipsters, they started reviving that genre of names.

Years ago on Big Breakfast (I think) there was a blonde female news reader called Saxon. I always thought it was a rather fabulous name.

I’m wondering what characteristics could possibly make a child “cool”?

Rich parents?

Tarquin, Leander, Orlando, Augustus, Spartacus, Cosmo, Wolfe, Fox, Ezra, Elijah, Octavius, Montgomery (not Monty!), Tristan, Maximus, Quentin, Reginald, Caspian, Xander, Pericles, Aurelius, Lucius, Farquhar.

Derek is actually rather awesome. It unfortunately reminds me of "Dreck", which means dirt in German.

But Derek is genuinely awesome :)

I know someone who has a baby called Tudor

JackieReacher · 10/02/2018 08:50

It has to be gender neutral so most of these are out.
Sue?

Wtaf is a "middle class hipster boy"?! You sound like a bit of a tit if I'm honest, what a pretentious thread title. But seeing as you're so in need of attention I'll give you a couple:

John Thomas
Willy
Denver
Dick
Charlton
Jesus

Disclaimer: I may be grumpy after being kept awake all night by my working class geek boy.
