We both like Thomas.

But it doesn't really work with our surname... And we seem have really different tastes in girl's names.

I'd be really grateful for suggestions / advice.

Mammie

Thomason is worse than Thomas with our surname, tbh.

Tommy sounds childish

Tom is short but nice.

Tomkin? Hm... I like it! But my OH won't.

David Davis? But doesn't it sound somewhat silly?

Well it seems to work for David Davis.

Can you give some examples of the girls names you like and the ones your husband likes?

Yes :)

He likes Emily, Hannah, Charlotte, Louise and my own name.

I like Francesca (so much!), Alma, Leona, Elena and Selma.

Francis
Sounds weird in German, tbh. And it reminds me of the pope...

Thank you :)!

Would just Tom work.?

I don't know. It would be a bit like calling your child Andy Anderson (our surname isn't Thomas but contains the name Thomas....)

It's not horrible but a bit "cartoonish", I suppose.

Alexander. Benjamin. Oliver. James. Peter
Conrad. Sebastian. Nathan. Elliot. Andrew.
George. Samuel. Matthew. Gabriel. William.

I like Sebastian. I also like Peter but I have some weird (although not unpleasant) associations with that name...

Florence. Isadora. Abigail. Jessica. Dorothy. Elizabeth. Alexandra. Olivia. Amelia. Natalia. Mabel. Evelyn. Martha.
Claudia. Felicity. Aurora. Georgia. Vivienne.
Matilda. Bryony. Melanie. Violet. Helena.
Kate. Lydia. Harriet. Cora. Rosa. Adalaide

I love Claudia and like Florence but I'm not sure if I'd use Claudia as a first name (it's my middle and my mother's first name).

I like Helena :) I wonder whether my OH likes that one...

Erin. Amanda. Eva. Mia. Molly. Evangeline.
Sadie. Heidi. Nancy. Bonnie. Hannah. Nina.

Oh, and the name should sound nice in German and English (which shouldn't be too difficult, but just adds an other "layer" of complicated).

TIA :)

I was going to say. It's better than having a snaking long list. However if it doesn't go with your surname.
Would just Tom work.
