Any thoughts on this name or potential second names? Our surname has a lot of syllables..

I think the name Celia is really old fashioned and not in a good way. I also used to know someone by that name and she was a right gossip!

FartnissEverbeans · 11/02/2018 18:32

It's lovely and I don't immediately think of the song. It's a great song though!

I'd spell it Cecelia.

Cecily is lovely but so posh and hard to say!

In a similar vein, I like Celeste.

indigo13 · 11/02/2018 15:19

I've loved it since Atonement

idontlikealdi · 10/02/2018 20:58

I love it, I know one with the nickname CiCi.

Smoliver · 10/02/2018 20:55

I adore the name Cecelia. I think it's so beautiful. Alma is also very pretty. Cecelia Alma is gorgeous Flowers

floriad · 10/02/2018 20:32

Cecilia is lovely. I also like Beatrice and Alma :)

Mrsknackered · 05/02/2018 21:13

It's lovely, though I'd spell it Cecilia. Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of music, which may he a nice association.

Pretty sure it comes from the Latin for blind though, which might be offputting.

Uhohmummy · 05/02/2018 20:00

Ps I prefer the spelling Cecilia

Uhohmummy · 05/02/2018 19:59

I love Cecilia. DH annoyingly doesn’t. It does make me think of the song but I happen to like Simon and Garfunkel!
Think it would be fine with that kind of surname.

daisypond · 05/02/2018 19:30

Cecilia is lovely. I like Alma as well. Maybe make sure the initials don't spell out a word you wouldn't be happy with - C-A-??

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/02/2018 19:26

Love Cecilia.

deptfordgirl · 05/02/2018 18:56

I LOVE it (unfortunately dh not a fan). But I would spell it Cecilia.

BubbleFrog · 05/02/2018 18:09

Thanks all. Considering Alma as a middle name? Surname sounds like Cheddington, same number of syllables.

I'm begging you please not to do it.

bridgetreilly · 05/02/2018 17:59

Cecilia is lovely. I also like Cecily and Cicely.

dragonwarrior · 05/02/2018 17:52

it's a lovely name and I wouldn't associate with the song, the songs old, I'm not.

Mid twenties here and all I hear is the song when I see the name.

sluj · 05/02/2018 17:52

I remember Chris Eubank doing a presenter slot on Top of The Pops years ago and announcing "Here's Thethelia by Thuggs".
A nightmare for any one with a lisp.
Put me off the name

wilts09 · 05/02/2018 17:49

I love it. My girl would have been Cecelia if DH allowed it! Cee cee is just so cute as a little nickname too Grin

CandyYumYum · 05/02/2018 17:44

And I definitely think of the song!

CandyYumYum · 05/02/2018 17:44

I love Cece as a nickname but find Cecilia itself a bit too prissy.

TatianaLarina · 05/02/2018 17:28

Beautiful name.

Frazzled2207 · 05/02/2018 17:20

Love Cecelia but I do think of the song!

Came across a Cecily once which is lovely too.

mistermagpie · 05/02/2018 16:56

Obviously I mean had DS1 been a girl!
