Hello! Due soon with DC2 - we already have a Bethan and I need some ideas for other Welsh names! I quite like Elin for a girl but boys I have no idea.... would love some inspiration!

Emyr or Haydn might fit your boys’ bill as well.

Elin is gorgeous of course.

Is Gwenlli a real name? I know a Gwenllïan.

I'd go for a name that is easy to say and spell if you are English. Bryn, Huw, Idris, etc

Love these! Thanks so much. I’m not Welsh, my husband is but we don’t live in Wales so need something not too out-there. Emlyn is brilliant for a boy!

My kids have all got proper unpronounceable Welsh names, because they are the best names in the world. And we've never lived in Wales we're right in the middle of England

Elin is one of my favourite names in the entire world. I’m not Welsh, but went to university there, and have family in West Wales.

I like Gethin and Rhodri. No idea whether they are young/trendy/old manly though.

beela · 29/01/2018 18:55

I wanted Emlyn or Idris for dc2, but she turned out to be a girl.

Wolfiefan · 29/01/2018 18:54

Are you Welsh? Are you looking for names English (or other nationality) people could easily pronounce?
