Thoughts on this name?

It's more traditional and popular than I would naturally go for but dh loves it and its growing on me. Not a fan of nn Teddy which sees very popular around here but dont mind Eddie or Ted.

Anyone have one?

My 12 week old Edward is currently asleep in my arms. We love it. It's the only boy name we agreed on and it totally suits him!

Remembered. Robert Patterson was a vampire called Edward and there was lots of red and black and a brunette involved.

I like let it but wasn't there that vampire thing. Like Harry Potter but with vampires and slightly older children. I don't remember anymore.

I like Edward. I love Eddie but would probably choose Edwin as the full name.

I've known as couple of eddies, lovely guys. Ted and Ned are also nice. Edmond is horrendous, did love blackadder though.

It's Ds's middle name and I love it esp nn Ted which was my GFs nn.

I also like Edwin, less keen on Edmund.

I have a 5yo Edward. He's been Teddy up till now, just starting to move onto Ted. Although he still gets Bear quite a lot. Love it!

It's ok.

Think if you have one unusual name, they're going to look v different - Ed is absolute plain brown loaf.

Depends really which one will eventually think he got the short straw!!

I don't think you can go wrong with Edward. Not keen on Teddy but Ed, Eddie and Eddy are all fine. Ned is just wrong.

Thanks guys. It is a really nice name. My hesitation is because my son's name is quite unusual (definitely a real name, just outside top 100) so I don't want them to clash.

I have one. He's either Edward in full or a completely unrelated nickname. The other Edward in his class is Ted. There are a lot of them round here but there's enough variation Ed/Ned/Ted/other that it doesn't feel super popular.

I like it. My adult step-son is an Edward and he's ace. Usually Edward rather than Ed, although we all use both.
