Baby No4 name

I have 3 boys already and pregnant with baby no4. Gender is unknown.
We have got a girls name in mind but just wondered what others thought of the name Esson for a boy 🤔 My husband is set on the name but I'm just not too sure.
We already have an Innes, Blair and Lyle.
Thoughts?

It really is difficult. I can't find any boys names that jump out at me. Thankfully I've still got a little while to go.

@Dowser Zowie Bowie is Duncan!

Coincidentally I’ve heard of 3 baby boys named Bowie over the last few months...

3boysandababyontheway · 21/01/2018 10:29

Dowser...

My child maybe would prefer names like Robbie but we are the ones choosing the name so it will be a name WE like not just to suit others.
I have agreed that Esson isn't a great choice and we won't be using this name. I do want an uncommon name, I didn't say unusual. I wouldn't say Innes, Blair and Lyle were unusual.. maybe uncommon.

Murdo? Murder 😂

You might like unusual names but your child might prefer Robbie, Scott or Dave 😂

Think of Zowie Bowie..doesn’t he call himself Jo.
When I saw Esson, I thought of the oil company Exxon that calls itself Esso in this country I think.
My mother had a horrible name. Hated it all her life. Thank god she gave me something I could live with.

Escher? (prn. ESH-er)

flumpybear · 21/01/2018 08:20

Cameron and Keir were on our boys name list too, as was Munro and Tate - I liked Hunter but DH didn't and really wanted a Scottish name so we settled on Cameron

flumpybear · 21/01/2018 08:18

Essen means 'eating' in German - I'd avoid it'll come up a lot particularly if he does German at school and he can never go or live in Germany - imaging a German person coming to the U.K. called 'drinking' .... weird!

PeasAndHarmony

I love Cameron but my next door neighbours son is called Cameron (although he's in his 20s) I do also quite like Callum and I have been toying with Keir.

I do think I like Struan but just wonder if it is too Scottish... if that's such a thing. I quite like Arran. Hamish is a definite no for us. Ewan however is quite nice. I've never heard of Oren.
Why is this so difficult 😣 I didn't have this much trouble naming my 3 boys.

Love Ezra as suggested^^.

Euan is another nice Scottish name, to go with your boys’, )but I know two horrible Euans, which obviously would put you off the name Wink).

Thanks everyone. You have all confirmed what I was thinking. Any ideas for us? Really struggling this time for a boys name. As mentioned we already have Innes, Blair and Lyle. We are Scottish so possibly something along those lines.
Sorry ChocolateCrunch... I don't like any of those names.
We do like names which are uncommon.
