Libby?

What are peoples thoughts on Libby? I've always been the kinda person to want the full name on the BC to give the child options. But Elizabeth really isn't to our taste and we're worried it would get shortened to the more common 'Liz' instead, which again isn't my cup of tea.

Is Libby a stand alone name on its own or is there another longer version besides Elizabeth or Liberty?

I really like it! But I'd prefer Elizabeth as full name if you decided to make it a nn.

Libby is at least as strong a name in its own right as a lot of the popular names like Lily, Elle or Molly though. Don't see why Libby can't be the name full stop

Libby is lovely, but I would go with Liberty on the BC..

I know a Libby who is just Libby, never thought it strange and it suits all ages :)

I know a 5 year old Libby, which is her full name.

If you always call her Libby then people will call her that (regardless of what's on the birth certificate)

We know a Libby who has Elizabeth on BC but has only ever been known as Libby. Seems to work ok. Cute name.

I like it but it always makes me think of Libby from Sabrina the teenage witch, but that's just my age showing Grin

I have a 21 year old Libby (just Libby). She went through a stage of spelling it Libbie but is now just back to Libby. I think she likes it as an adult lol

I work with a Libbie. It's her full name, not a nickname. It works as a grown up name.

I taught a Libby who was really Elizabeth. Her parents have always called her Libby so there was no confusion or Liz about her. Great kid too.

I was going to suggest Liberty, but see you’ve already considered that one.

I think it’s ok on its own, but I can think of nicer names, if I’m being totally honest.
