What do you think of the name Thea Millie? Both names to dedicate mine and Dh grandmothers. Our surname is a nice sounding simple name (my maiden name was bad so appreciate my married name) Also for a boy we have decided on Isaiah David (definitely not everyone taste)

I have an 12 year old Thea (pronounced Thee-a - th as in thank not the) so I'm biased, but she loves her name. We've met a few others - but not many - one of whom is pronounced Tay-a. When she was little she was Fee-ar quite a bit, amongst friends who found the soft Th hard, but not a problem any more. I like that it's a bit different but without being wacky/hard to spell. Like others, I prefer Millicent to Millie as a flow, but I can see Mildred is a bit more of a challenge!!

Thank you for all your comments. We would pronounce it Thee-a. Interesting about a few have mentioned Millicent as the middle name over Millie. The two names of our grandparents are Dorothy and Mildred, but don’t like either of those names in that form so have looked for alternatives. I think in the area we live Thea would be pronounced thee-a but not overly bothered about having to correct a few people if needed.

I didn’t know whether Thea Millicent was too unusual hence me using Millie to kind of normalise the name if that makes any sense at all.

All the Theas I’ve known have prounounced it TAY-uh. How would you prounce it OP? Millie is sweet. Don’t like Isaiah or David, sorry.

I have a Thea so I obviously love it. I also have a son with an Old Testament biblical name so I have similar taste.

My Dd never gets called Fear like some pp have suggested but she does sometimes get called Sia by her big brother.

Thea is lovely and elegant, Millie is sweet but together they look a bit like the name of a French pastry to me. Not necessarily a bad thing!

I think its very nice. I've only heard it Theee-a. I like Thea Millie but LOVE the Thea Milicent if it's an option.

I've only ever heard it pronounced Theee - a. Hadn't occurred to me there could be any other way.

I’m a mum of a Thea, pronounced the Greek way. I still love it and Thea likes to say it. Where we are we have had a few people say Feeya which is annoying, but water under the bridge really.

I know a Taya that started off as a Thea but her mother got annoyed with everyone saying 'thee-a' so changed the spelling.

I love Thea, it was on our list but unfortunately our DD just didn't suit it
