Ordinary names I've never seen suggested on MN

I don't think I've ever seen Nicola mentioned. There were lots in my generation. Maybe it will be back in 5-10 years when we start to become grannies.

Surprised by Rachel. It’s my name and although I’m in my 40s, I know Rachels as young as 10.
I’ve always thought of it as fairly timeless.
Am I just kidding myself that my name moves with the times? Grin

I'm in Scotland and know a good few Kirsty's, ranging from 14 to about 35.

My nephews are Tony and Mark, they’re 4 and 5 now.

I have a Kirsty too! Age 10. She is the only child she knows with the name and has been to 2 different primaries. Do wonder if its more common in Scotland.

I have a Kirsty. The only other Kirstys she has come across have been at least in their late 20s/early 30s. She is also constantly fed up as nowhere ever does anything with her name on it.

Mind you she was nearly Rhiannon as DP and I were listening to a lot of Fleetwood Mac when she was conceived!

There were several Kirstys when I was at school but that was many years ago in Scotland.

All the Rachels I know are teens or younger. I don't know any adult Rachels, I always think of it as a young name.

@FizzyGreen - at the risk of outing myself, Nicola is an ok name, although I prefer the nicknames Nikki or Nic. Wink

I don’t think it will ever be that popular again though...
