Some early name thoughts

Quite early to be thinking too much about this really :) I’m 11 weeks with DC2. I’ve barely been thinking of the end result (a baby!) yet at all with Christmas with DS (he’s 3) and as I’m planning to ask what sex the baby is at 20 week scan there’s no point planning 50% of names really! However... I’m starting to think of all the girl names I don’t get to think of last time, and why not throw some out there for opinions?! So far I’m fond of

Clara
Alice
Lucy
Clarissa
Serena
And I really like the simplicity of Jane, you don’t get it much these days either!

I have no boys names yet 😂

I love Clarissa but I’m a bit biased (it’s the name of DD1).

Serena and Alice are lovely. Clara is nice but it seems to be rather popular (there are two girls named Clara at DD1’s nursery)....

Jame is brilliant isn’t it? It’s so plain but it has got a kind of... pure simplicity to it. Also I adore Jane Austen and would love to give her name. DH isn’t so keen on it though. He is actually coming out with far more fanciful ones than I am, although I like his suggestion of Josephine. Problem with that is she’d be Joey or Jo in a week and that would be it. I think my general preference is Lucy because it just has a lovely sound to it.

Emily has always been a favourite of mine. It’s a solid classic too. My sons name is very classic, biblical in fact but also not terribly common (barely in top 100) and I’d like something similar for DC2, a name people recognise, sounds nice but isn’t one you hear every day.

Jane is brilliant, it's clean and short and strong.

I like Lucy a lot too.
