Nancy or Mabel, Iris is awful.

Mrsknackered · 02/01/2018 10:51

Love Iris, like Mabel, irritational dislike of Nancy.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 02/01/2018 10:46

Iris.

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 02/01/2018 10:44

Nancy is fab. It’s on our middle names list. I’d love to use it as a first name but it sounds weird with our surname...

Iris is cute and I like flower names.

Mabel is... drab and actually starting to feel a bit overused imo. (I’ve met a few little Mabels recently.)

BattleCuntGalactica · 02/01/2018 09:49

One of the kids on the road behind me is called Mabel. Thing is, I'm in the dark reaches of Yorkshire, and when her parents call her name it sounds like this

MAAAAAAAYBULL. Seriously. I crack up every time I hear it.

I would go with Iris.

Thank you all for the comments!! I will show DH tonight and see what he says!!

Mabel!

I can't stand Nancy.

madeyemoodysmum · 02/01/2018 09:34

Nancy. Hate iris. It's such a harsh sound.

TatianaLarina · 02/01/2018 09:29

Mabel is awful.

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 01/01/2018 23:08

Nancy and Iris are lovely.

But I personally really dislike Mabel.

TabbyCat864 · 01/01/2018 23:01

Nancy

FinnegansCake · 01/01/2018 22:57

Iris.
I don’t like Mabel or Nancy. Or Iris if I’m honest, but it seems like the least awful.
When I was a child they were fairly common old lady names and I encountered quite a few, but I don’t remember a single glamorous one - to me these names conjure up drab overweight women in brown raincoats Grin

Queentitansgo · 01/01/2018 22:45

Mabel

pumpkinpieinmyeye · 01/01/2018 22:43

I love Mabel followed by Nancy. But all nice names.

Leeds2 · 01/01/2018 22:34

Iris is gorgeous.
Mabel is too harsh sounding for me.
Nancy always brings to mind "Nancy boy".

endthefarts · 01/01/2018 22:26

Not Mabel! It's such an ugly name. Don't do it!

Love Iris and Nancy can be pulled off by a child with lots of character.

happytobemrsg · 01/01/2018 22:17

Definitely Iris. I don't like the other two, sorry. Iris is lovely

Bellabluea · 01/01/2018 22:17

Somersetter · 01/01/2018 21:14

I love Mabel. Really pretty yet simple and classic, yet not overused.
