WDYT of Ari for DS? DD has a fairly unusual name and we feel like this really ‘goes’ with her name. Opinions please?

But what about Ayo? That's a great name!

GoingRogue · 29/12/2017 22:05

What about Arlo or Eli?

GoingRogue · 29/12/2017 22:04

I like it (loved Entourage) but it just sounds like R.E (religious education!).

FeelingGuiltyAlready · 29/12/2017 22:04

I like it. The Ari I know is from South America and is in his 40s. It is pronounced arry, exactly like Harry without the H.

starzig · 29/12/2017 22:04

Sorry still sounds like a cockney saying Harry

BradleyPooper · 29/12/2017 22:04

It's a Jewish name. I do like the original pronounciation but unless you write it phonetically or tell people the pronunciation, it will still be Arry.

Beansmeans · 29/12/2017 22:02

It has Hebrew and Scandinavian origins

It’s pronounced ‘Are-Ee’

Do you have Finnish connections? Isn’t it a Finnish name? I wouldn’t choose it otherwise

dd has a friend called Ari.
the whole world thinks he is called Harry.
He gives up telling them he isn't in the end, and he just gets called Harry in some parts of his life.

BradleyPooper · 29/12/2017 21:57

Not keen, sounds like an Eastenders character called Harry.....
