Are there any names that Hugo could be a nickname for?

I used to call my dog Hugallyboobles which has a certain ring to it.

Hugofirst.
Hugoyourownway.
Hugogirl.

Nope. I’d stick with Hugo on its own as it’s a pretty cool name.

Hugothatway.....

RideOn · 29/12/2017 21:08

They weren’t rude.

Hugoduncan

Hugoglencoco?

BarbaraOcumbungles · 29/12/2017 21:03

It’s not rude at all Hmm

Hugo is a fabulous name. I had a dog called Hugo once.

RatRolyPoly · 29/12/2017 21:01

Perhaps some sort of double-barrelled first name like the male equivalent of Ella-May or Lily-Rose, OP? Like Hugo-Rhys or Hugo-Miles? You could do anything really, and it would sound frightfully upmarket with the right surname!

Giraffey1 · 29/12/2017 20:59

No, not rude at all. And Hugo is a full name in its own right. Not long or short for anything. If it helps, I like the name.,

NisekoWhistler · 29/12/2017 20:58

They weren't being rude, they were merely pointing out the bleeding obvious

BikeRunSki · 29/12/2017 20:57

Hugosthere 😄

My dbro has Hugo as a nickname. His name is Hugh. This probably doesn't help you.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 29/12/2017 20:55

Hugosaurus as a baby and hugomuffin as a teenager?

vitaminC · 29/12/2017 20:54

Hugo is a name in its own right and isn't short for anything, so doesn't need a longer version.
Would you try to lengthen other 2-syllable names?

SuperBeagle · 29/12/2017 20:54

No. Hugo is a name in its own right.

It's like asking if Philip could be short for anything.

Mouthfulofquiz · 29/12/2017 20:53

Isn't it a name in its own right? Just go with Hugo.
