Are there any names that Hugo could be a nickname for?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hugoslavia

MikeUniformMike · 29/12/2017 23:29

And Hugo really isn't a suitable with the surname Down.

MikeUniformMike · 29/12/2017 23:28

I saw the thread title and thought Hugoyourway. Now I have an earworm.
Hugoslavia or is that a bit dated.

It could be a petname for Hugh. Do not use this name if your surname is Jarrs.

@Sands Hugo First was a pretty famous author back in the day. Wrote one of my favourites, “Exploring Haunted Houses”.

RavenWings · 29/12/2017 22:36

wow ok just a question, how very rude of you

Don't be so bloody precious, they gave you a straightforward, polite answer to a fairly ridiculous question. If you think that's rude, that's your problem.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/12/2017 22:33

Perhaps some sort of double-barrelled first name like the male equivalent of Ella-May or Lily-Rose, OP? Like Hugo-Rhys or Hugo-Miles? You could do anything really, and it would sound frightfully upmarket with the right surname!

I don't know if this was meant as a joke, but in case it wasn't, no, a hyphenated first name wouldn't sound upmarket, even if the surname was Cholmondeley-ffoulkes-DeMontfort-Fitzherbert.

WhatInTheWorldIsGoingOn · 29/12/2017 22:26

Try other name endings?
Hugojamin
Hugophen

For the record my boy would be Hugo if I had my way. I love it.
