Love it. If we're lucky enough to have another girl one day she'll be Edith.

Ugly and fusty imo, but then I don't like Mabel, Ethel, Ivy et al either, and lots of people do.

H’s Grandma is called Edith, she’s 95 tomorrow. I don’t like it at all. People up here called Edith tend to get called Edie which is even worse.

I think I love it then suddenly worry it’s too old lay! Then go back to loving it. So hard to name a person!

I actually really like Edith, and especially Edie as a nickname.
Probably because I loved the singer Edie Brickell when I was a teenager!

I love it - Ds2 would have been Edith if he were a girl. My mum hates it though as we had an ancient Auntie Edie and always says she’s very glad we had a boy!

Really dislike. I don't mind old fashioned names but Edith is too old lady for me and is quite a harsh unpretty name.

When I first heard of Edith Bowman (donkey's years ago) I thought it was really ugly. It was my grandma's name, and it just didn't feel right on someone 10 years or so older than me.
Now that I'm older, I can imagine it being cute on a little girl - but as it fits with the granny chic trend, it may go out of fashion again and be 'of a time' rather than a timeless age iykwim.

It's had a pretty universal thumbs up from one side of the family. Other side don't like it at all. Not that I care..... Just not completely sold on it?

I must admit I do think of old ladies, but if I met a young fashionable women called Edith I would think it was quite cool x

DD's best friend is called Edith and I think it's lovely. She's a cool kid.
