What was the most popular first name when you were at school?

In primary school in my class there was 3 Nathans and 2 Ryan's

In primary school my class had 2 Katies, 2 Kellys, 2 Daniels and 3 Lauras; we only had 27 people in the entire class. There was also quite a few Daniels throughout the school IIRC.

In secondary school Daniel still proved to be popular and so did Martin/Martyn, but Lucy was without doubt the most popular name so it just became easier to refer to all of them by nicknames based on their surnames instead. Many of these NN stuck because 12-13 years on I know a fair few still use them on a personal level (i.e. not within work or when with family).

Girls I would say Emilys and Charlottes and then there were a few called Natasha, Stephanie and Amelia. I think that they were really the only girls names that there were multiples of. Boys were probably more common with names like Luke, Jack, Josh, James, Sam and Oliver all being common. It’s funny how these names all seem to still be quite popular now but I find them really boring as I know so many!

We had two Laura Alice's in my Primary School class of 20. I knew countless Lauras throughout my school life.
Jessica was a popular one. So was Becky.

Josh and Joe were also quite common.

I was born in the 70s. The most duplicated names at school were Lisa, Julie and Gillian.

There were a lot of Richards and Marks amongst the boys.

You could tell if someone's parents were working or naice middle class by the girls names in the classroom. Boys less so.
