What was the most popular first name when you were at school?

Girls: Emma, Sarah, Gemma, Joanne/Joanna, Helen, Claire, Laura. Some Karens and Traceys too.

Boys: Daniel, James, Christopher, Ryan (3 in my class alone), David, Matthew, Mark.

This was 1980s and 1990s. It surprises me how many of those names have fallen out of use.

Karen, Susan, Debbie / Deborah, Julie.
Michael. David, Stephen, Paul. All at primary school.
Secondary - all girls, so very similar to the girls in primary, though we also had a few Traceys and a couple of Paulines. I left school in 1979.

I left primary school in 2005

The most popular girls names were Jessica Hannah and Kelly

Boys names were James peter and William

In high school (left 2010) there were lots of Scarlett's and calum's

Lots of Marks and Davids. Even though I was born in 1972 I didn't meet another Sarah until I was in college - then my 2 best friends were also Sarah Grin.

There were 2 Samantha's in my primary school class. I've never met another Samantha in my life. There were no boys with the same name.

In secondary school there were a lot of girls called Jo, Emma and Gemma. There were a few Sarah's. I think Joe was a popular boys name.
