Baby name dilemma!!!!!!!

Chelsea2016 · 02/12/2017 21:33

As a last resort I have ended up here... my baby girl is due sooo very soon and we haven’t decided on a name for her. My partner loves Sophia but I don’t like it and am not really liking it for a middle name either.
I have - Milly Ella, Milly Isabella or Ella Rose and am completely torn!
Please help 💗

Happy due date op!

I know loads of Ellas, Millys and Sophias if you are avoiding popular ones.

Fwiw, Sophia is my favourite of the three, but if you don’t like it at all then obviously you shouldn’t use it.

I dislike Milly, but then it means something like female ‘chav’ where I’m from (NI). Horrible word. But I do know one (English born) Milly, living in NI and she seems to get by .

There are some suggestions on here which are far nicer, (to me), than Ella or Milly.

LittleBlueFish · 03/12/2017 08:23

Milly Sophia Rose is nice

littlepoppett · 03/12/2017 08:15

Isabella is a beautiful name

17caterpillars1mouse · 03/12/2017 08:08

I like Sophia best
Then Milly Sophia or Milly Isabella

If you love Milly and your partner loves Sophia then the nicest thing to do seems to be go for Milly Sophia as you then have 1 name you both love.

I like Ella but Ella Rose is so overdone it has lost any spark for me

Abigail goes lovely with Benjamin and it means fathers joy that goes well with Benjamin meaning son of my right hand.
If not Abigail how about...
Evelyn
Claudia
Rosalie

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/12/2017 07:25

Ella Rose, or Rose Sophia.

Joeybee · 03/12/2017 01:42

Ella Rose is lovely...also Ella Sophia sounds great.

PaxUniversalis · 02/12/2017 22:34

All the best!

Chelsea2016 · 02/12/2017 22:18

Thank you all... I’m going to sleep on it and see what sounds good in the morning, definitely narrowed it down for me. I guess we’ll have to see what she looks like! By the way, I’m due tomorrow 😱🙊💗

Ella Rose, definitely.

VelvetKK · 02/12/2017 22:09

Love love love Ella Rose.

I totally agree with Milly Ella running into the same name due to the double L's

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 02/12/2017 22:08

Wait until she's born. We took ages to name ours. See what works. Plus, no one uses middle names anyway, so don't get too hung up on that.

Isobel?

Chelsea2016 · 02/12/2017 22:07

I do like Milly Rose.
With the Beatrix Potter theme, I did originally like Lily but I thought it was unbelievably popular!
It’s so hard because I don’t want plain and boring but then I don’t want overly popular x

Ooo I like rowtheboats suggestion too! Beatrix Rose?

skankingpiglet · 02/12/2017 22:04

How about Ella Sophia Rose then? Sounds nice and separates the S's of Sophia and your surname.

VioletCharlotte · 02/12/2017 21:57

How about Milly Rose?

rowtheboats · 02/12/2017 21:56

You could stick to a Beatrix Potter theme with names? The style would flow with Benjamin that way. I.e Jemima, Beatrix

oldlaundbooth · 02/12/2017 21:55

Ella Rose.

Chelsea2016 · 02/12/2017 21:55

Her surname will begin with S so I can’t see the Sophia working as a middle name x

Mrsknackered · 02/12/2017 21:54

Personally for me I prefer Milly as there is (slightly) less around. Ella is such a lovely sounding name but it's popularity for the last two decades has put me off greatly.

Mrsknackered · 02/12/2017 21:53

If you don't like each other's suggestions, what about:

Hannah
Edie
Molly
Luna
Ivy

Chelsea2016 · 02/12/2017 21:53

My partner does like Ella & Milly... we are just so undecided x

KnockMeDown · 02/12/2017 21:53

Ella Rose Sophia has a lovely ring to it! ?

Chelsea2016 · 02/12/2017 21:52

Thank you for your lovely response! I can imagine it was a lot of pressure for you as time went by. I was like this with my son, I only decided 100% when he was born, hopefully I will make the right decision in the end 😊
Choosing a name sure is hard work!

I do think if you both dislike each other’s names then you need to find a different compromise name.

Sophia, Milly and Ella are all nice popular names but that’s not the point, you need a name that makes both of you happy.
