Just curious as to how you personally would pronounce Leila, Lila, Leia and Lia

My daughter's name is Leia (Lay-uh) and people call her Leah (Le-ah) all the time Hmm

Lila is surely from same Hebrew root as Delilah? So Lila(h) means night in Hebrew.

So you pronounce as Delilah but without the Dee

Leila = Layla
Lila = Lee-lah (like Mila) or Lie-lah. More Lee-lab I think.

I'd pronounce Leila LAY-ee-LA. With the 'ee' part being short and subtly pronounced. Almost not noticeable. Rather than a flat Lay-lah.

Lila = lye-la (although lee=la is also a legitimate pronunciation)
Leia = lay-a (I think, didn't they pronounce it this way on Star Wars, actually wasn't this name made up for Star Wars?)

Leila is lay-la, the same as Layla.

Lila is lie-la, as in "lie down".

Leia is lay-ah, as in Princess Leia.

Lia is lee-ah, the same as Leah.
