Girls name - not flower or ‘old lady’ - help!!!

We don’t know what we’re having, but have had a boys option chosen since I was pregnant with DD1 (called Jessica) and just can’t seem to find a girl option that we both like!

I’m not keen on flower names e.g. Rosie, Poppy, Daisy

DH doesn’t like what he calls ‘old lady’ names which have become fashionable over recent years e.g. Florence, Edith, Ava, Norah

Neither of us are keen on overly fancy names e.g. Clementine, Arabella, Cordelia

Types of names we like, but don’t think are ‘the one’ include:

Charlotte
Sophie/Sophia
Georgina
Lucy
Emma
Victoria
Elizabeth

Please help! Confused Confused

If I had had a gel, she would have been Beth ( or Bethan)

Out of your choices I would like Georgina , Emma and Victoria. I'd also suggest Imogen, Enola, Freya.

What about Sailor?

Lobsterquadrille2 · 25/11/2017 12:37

I too would choose Alice (my user name is a poem from "Alice in Wonderland") - lovely, timeless, easy to spell and not that many of them (that I know).

mathanxiety · 25/11/2017 05:00

I would definitely choose Alice, though you really can't go wrong with Emma or Sarah...

OtterInDisgrace · 25/11/2017 02:59

Octavia or Prudence.

NamasteNiki · 25/11/2017 02:50

All three are gorgeous! See what she looks like when she arrives

Bouncingbelle · 24/11/2017 17:43

All 3 names are classic and gorgeous and names i woukd like to have myself!

If i had to pick a favourite it would probably be Emma, cute but also perfect for a grown woman :)

Good call OP: all three are lovely timeless names.

MrsJayy · 24/11/2017 09:50

Thanks everyone!! We’ve narrowed it down to Alice, Sarah or Emma (wasn’t sure about Emma at first but the more I hear it the more I like it!) Smile
