Arlo?

My husband likes Arlo for a boys name. I think I like it but it’s fairly unusual in comparison to the other names we are considering. What do you think of it? I think it’s a bit of a cartoon character name?!

I dislike it, mainly because I grew up near Harlow in Essex (which is an utter dive) and Arlo sounds like the local pronunciation of the place.

Arlo also sounds like it should be the French pronunciation of Harlot... Er, sorry for the negativity OP. Everyone else seems to love Arlo, so if it's the one for you (and you don't live near Harlow) then go for it.

It's getting very popular, very fast. I know of 4 born in the past year. I remember it being on the list for ds five years ago and it was around the 700 mark, now it's top 50. I'm glad we didn't choose it and went for a classic name instead.

I was keen on this for DS now 7. In the end we went with a family name instead. Tbh I’m glad we didn’t use it as it seems to have become v popular and I’d worry it might date it a bit.

I always think of it as a dog's name, sorry !

It's reeeeally popular since tht dinosaur film came out ! Tht dsnt mean it's a bad name , but I think it will definitely be a common one last and this year

I love it!!!!! Due my 2nd baby boy next week but sadly unable to use it as my son is already called Milo so we feel it's just too similar. Plan to use it as a middle name instead 😐 I have heard it's becoming more popular tho so wwouldnt say it's too unusual xxx
