Love Agnes, was on the list for dd1, dh wasn’t having it, so she is Annie instead.

You could use it. Or you could use variants like Ines or Annes. Ness is cute as a pet name.

seamus, I was being tongue in cheek. Senga does’t have a lovely meaning in Scotland. As urban dictionary puts, it it generally means a female Ned.

If you’ve been put off, Senga is also a lovely name (it’s Agnes backwards but a name in its own right), I can’t remember what the meaning is but I’m sure it’s something lovely

I like Agnes, Agatha,Edith and Stella , any of them would reflect your other DDs names... How about Sylvia?
As far as nicknames is concerned I wouldn’t worry unless you are planning to use the short version yourselves. I think they develop naturally between the ‘owner’of the name and the users, you can only influence what you call her.

How weird- your three DD’s names are my exact girls names list - in that order! My three favourite girls names ever.

Agnes is an epic name. Elegant, rare, seriously old-school (in a great way) and serious enough for your daughter to be a judge, an astronaut or anything else her potential might suggest.

The nickname possibilities are as ethereal as the name itself is serious. And her nickname would be what she’s known by - until she needed, or wanted, to have something with more gravitas in the wider world.

And speaking of the wider world: it’s a name that travels very, very well and retains its elegance no matter the geography.
