Help and thoughts with my baby girl name list please- Inca/Eden

This is my first post but I have been struggling with opinions on my baby girl names.

Partner and friends are very sweet by saying they like them all or that they are 'ok' but it means i'm probably not getting honest reactions to them. Most people I know are from a alternative place/background so they are also very used to hearing/having weird and wonderful (or awful!) names.

I have 3 months to go on this pregnancy but time seems to be going so fast so here goes:

Inca/ Inka
Eden
Marlowe
Shiloh
Cherish

Just as a point of reference 'Inka' (can also be spelt Inca) is a Scandinavian baby name but I also have no issues if people associate it with the South American Inca's/Inka's.

Any ideas or opinions welcome

Eden

Dolwar · 16/11/2017 00:23

Didn't the Incas make human sacrifices? Hmm

RavenWings · 15/11/2017 22:50

Inca/ Inka - like the Mayans or the Aztecs. No. Absolutely not.

Eden - it's ok.

Marlowe - also ok

Shiloh - Brad Pitts daughter. No.

Cherish - no. Some virtue names are nice and I like this as a middle name, but it's too much as a first.

SavageBeauty73 · 15/11/2017 22:38

Love Eden

I had Skye on my list

MissFlashpants · 15/11/2017 22:36

Marlowe is very cool. Grin

Lentilist · 15/11/2017 22:26

P.S. I really like Inka! :)

But Katinka does give her options like Kat, Kati, and Tink! :D

Lentilist · 15/11/2017 22:25

How about Katinka to give her more options, you can call her Inka from the start, but she has something else to use if she so chooses?

bridgetreilly · 15/11/2017 21:55

Inka (with a k) is the only one I like, but I do really like it.

Potteryprincess30 · 15/11/2017 20:12

Thank you everyone so much! I really needed some honesty and its given me much more clarity. Cherish is forever off the list now so do not fear! Shiloh is probably equally a no from the sounds of things, and probably was a moment of brangelina pregnancy mania.

Eden and Inka/Inca have made the grade, even though I know they havn't and won't please everyone, I think they are the most acceptable for a baby through to adulthood and socially ect form your comments.

All the best to all of you Smile

Eden is beautiful... if I had another girl that would of been her name x

AmysTiara · 15/11/2017 16:59

Any but Cherish.

WhatKatyDidNotDo · 15/11/2017 16:57

Don't like Inca/Inka or Marlowe.

I like Eden and Cherish.

icantgetnosleep5 · 15/11/2017 07:27

Katinka ?! God thts even worse ! But, other than that, what th last poster said !

TatianaLarina · 14/11/2017 23:00

Eden is 100% chav, Shiloh is copycat celeb, Cherish would be fine in an African country or the Deep South, Marlowe’s ok but another celeb baby name (Sienna Miller) so that leaves Inca - which is orginal but odd.

What about Katinka - Inka for short?

buttercup54321 · 14/11/2017 22:49

Eden

Marcine · 14/11/2017 22:42

Eden, maybe Inka.

SuperBeagle · 14/11/2017 22:35

As previous poster said, Inga is a traditional Scandinavian girls name.

Inka is a name used in Scandinavia also. Not Inca.

DramaAlpaca · 14/11/2017 22:33

Eden is OK.

I don't like the rest of the list at all. Sorry.

SuperBeagle · 14/11/2017 22:32

Inka. This spelling.

Not a fan of the rest. Cherish is really, really bad.

Joeybee · 14/11/2017 22:30

Inca/ Inka - sounds cool, but I totally can't disassociate it from the Inka's!
Eden - LOVE this. Met a little girl called Eden and thought it was just a fab name, and underused too.
Marlowe - Nope. Dated and clunky.
Shiloh - to me more a pet name.
Cherish - NOPE.

Nonameyet1 · 14/11/2017 19:20

I have an Eden and lots of people, in real life, say they love it. Not sure if that helps at all.

florascotianew · 14/11/2017 14:18

The Inca were a very famous civilisation in South America - their ruins are well-known tourist destinations eg Machu Picchu en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machu_Picchu. It would be a bit like calling a baby 'Aztec' - and both the Aztec and Inca civilisations are sometimes studied in primary school.

As previous poster said, Inga is a traditional Scandinavian girls name.

icantgetnosleep5 · 14/11/2017 13:57

I'd steer clear of Inca / cherish imo !
Eden is beautiful

HettyB · 14/11/2017 12:47

Inca/ Inka - I like Inka, for a girl
Eden - it’s alright, but not to my taste
Marlowe - again, not to my taste but it’s ok
Shiloh - as Marlowe
Cherish - I really dislike this, sorry

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/11/2017 12:18

Love Eden and Marlowe. Cherish is quite sweet
Not keen on the others
