Penelope because I like Penny.

BernardBlacksHangover · 10/11/2017 19:31

Maebh is lovely.

I like Penelope too, but think it’s getting to be quite common now. I know three little Penelopes, all from different places, (one is in Scotland, one in north of England and the other is in Canada). I’ve also heard at least two people say they nearly called their dc Penelope but didn’t for one reason or another.

greendale17 · 10/11/2017 19:23

Another vote for Penelope

Definitely not Ashley

HiggedyPiggedy · 10/11/2017 19:18

I prefer Aisling to Ashley - seems more modern to me (but I'm not Irish)

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 10/11/2017 14:22

If you decide to go with Penelope as her first name, then why not use the beautiful Maebh for her middle? Thus including the Irish heritage, too.

Penelope Maebh...flows nicely.

Really do love Maebh best for her first name, though!

Teddy7878 · 10/11/2017 13:39

I like Olivia, lily and Ashley best.
Don't like Annabelle but that might be because of the creepy film that was out this year.

Lily and Gracie! Best of Luck! :D

Joinourclub · 10/11/2017 13:07

Penelope is a perfectly normal name! No daringness required. I known three grown up Penny's and one child and they are all lovely.

Personally I think middle names should have a meaning, e.g. Family names, rather than just being an extra name that doesn't get used very often!

Popeye44 · 10/11/2017 13:03

Thanks for all your responses, I don't know if I'm daring enough to go for Penelope, if I did what possible middle names would I choose?

Annabel

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/11/2017 10:50

Lily or Rosie.

MrsBertBibby · 10/11/2017 09:52

Penelope or Maebh.

The rest are so overused, and Annabel always sounds like a dull person's name to me.

Although Anna is lovely....

rowtheboats · 10/11/2017 09:52

Maebh spelt Maeve?
Or Rosie

Hazelatte26 · 10/11/2017 09:48

Ashley.

Love it on a girl and a boy. Never met a little girl called Ashley though.

mum2be2boys · 10/11/2017 09:46

Annabel or Penelope are my favourites, all beautiful names though!

calamityjam · 10/11/2017 09:44

Since you are in Ireland are there no other pretty Irish names you like? There are so many and you can get away with the proper spelling without people asking how its spelt

euanthesheepiloveyou · 10/11/2017 09:36

Maebh - definitely. Love that name.

starkid · 10/11/2017 09:30

Lily, Penelope and Annabel

17caterpillars1mouse · 10/11/2017 07:30

I like Annabel and Maeve best

Joeybee · 10/11/2017 07:26

Olivia - Gorgeous name. For me too popular.
Lily - Pretty, but a bit plain, more of a middle name. Plus it was WAAY too popular about 5 years ago.
Ashley - Dated, reminds me of lots of girls from high school back in 90's/early 2000's.
Penelope - LOVE it! it's strong but cutesy too, esp with 'Penny' as a nn.
Gracie - Too cutesy. I'd go with Grace, and nn Gracie.
Rosie - Too plain, more a middle name.
Maebh - Like it, but for me it'd be annoying that people would never know how to pronounce it if they saw it written down.
Annabel - I like this name. It's a bit dated, but I think it's ready for a comeback.

AdaColeman · 10/11/2017 07:18

Maebh is absolutely lovely and by far my favourite.

Olivia is hugely popular already. I'm not keen on Gracie though quite like Grace. Not at all keen on Ashley, it quite dated now. Annabel is too close to all the Belle, Bella names that were all the rage a couple of years ago.

I hope you do use Maebh, it's a wonderful name.

Tuttytoffee · 10/11/2017 07:17

Penelope! Flowers
