Just looking for opinions on the name Barnaby, or similar?
I’m stuck for any other names that I really like & this is the only one dp & I agree on.

I like it.

onemachine · 23/11/2017 21:53

Absolutely love it

buzzbuzzbumblebee · 18/11/2017 12:01

DS is at school with a Barnaby. I love it!
He either gets called Barney or Barnaby.

Blondielongie · 13/11/2017 21:53

Love it!!

Lily2007 · 13/11/2017 21:53

Flintstones Grin

Shockers · 13/11/2017 21:50

It was on my list for DS, but DH said no.

I know a lovely, clever, quirky adult Barnaby.

RavenWings · 13/11/2017 21:50

I really, really don't like it (apologies to parent of small Barnaby who posted above me - am sure your kiddo is lovely). It just sounds a bit ridiculous/poncey to me.

lovingfridays · 13/11/2017 21:50

Love it

Hellobump15 · 13/11/2017 21:48

I have one, so far just Barnaby not Barney (that feels a different name to me somehow). I love it and am very glad we went for it

Loveisthelaw · 12/11/2017 22:39

Really like it, although most people don't seem to. I'm not sure why.

NamasteNiki · 10/11/2017 19:45

I really like it.

glitterbiscuits · 10/11/2017 13:11

I love it. And Barney from Blue Peter is a legend!

emsyj37 · 10/11/2017 12:50

I love it and would have used it except I have a very old friend who already has a Barney and I wanted all my DCs to have names that I didn't know any others. I think it is a good looking boy/man name, meaning I can't imagine a Barnaby not being really gorgeous!

Mrsknackered · 10/11/2017 11:55

I like it. The one I know is mid 20's now and bloody gorgeous.

I know a very newborn Barney too.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/11/2017 11:32

I like it. I know a couple of adult Barnaby/Barneys. Cool name.

minipie · 10/11/2017 11:29

I know two under 4s called Barnaby. It's sweet - I'm not a huge fan of the nn Barney but possibly because I remember the American dinosaur.

Ninjakittysmells · 10/11/2017 11:26

I adore it! I sobbed when pregnant as I decided I couldn’t name DS it as we have a surname that starts with B. If I ever have a second child though then I’m over that now and he will be a Barnaby. The only ones we know are super cool and lovely kids!

Changerazelea · 10/11/2017 11:21

Beautiful name classic but not too popular. Go for it.

rightsofwomen · 10/11/2017 11:20

There is an 8 yo one in my son's class. Lovely lad and no one thinks it's an odd name. He mostly gets called Barney.

TisapityshesaGeordie · 10/11/2017 11:19

It was my first choice for DS, but DH was absolutely not having it.

I named the car it instead Blush

Flippingecktucker · 10/11/2017 11:16

It's a great name, my dc's have a mate called it, known as Barney, he's very very cool and so is his name!

PastaOfMuppets · 10/11/2017 11:13

@SuperBeagle, I'm not the only one who thought of Barnaby Joyce then! Random Australian bloke, indeed (though yes he really is!!)

halcyondays · 10/11/2017 11:03

I really like it.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/11/2017 10:54

Not a favourite of mine.

SuperBeagle · 10/11/2017 08:02

Barnaby Joyce.

Aside from that, it's pretty dire. I can't imagine many people appreciating being called Barnaby.
