Lucus because it reminds me of Mucus
Agatha - just so harsh sounding
I used to despise the name Arthur but now i think it is really cute!
Kaiden - no reason, just don't like it.

CakesRUs · 03/11/2017 21:36

Chloe it just doesn't sit right with me. Plus I always think of Vanessa redgrave in deep impact calling Chloe chlorine. Grin

Annabelle4 · 03/11/2017 21:28

Phoebe makes me shiver. It's just so harsh... Fee Bee Confused

Not keen on names that end in 'ie' either - Ellie, Evie, Katie, etc. I much prefer an 'A' ending or none, e.g. Ella, Kate.

I don't like surnames as first names, or the letter 'K' (Kai, Kody, Kayleigh etc)

KalaLaka · 03/11/2017 21:28

Names with 'th' sounds.

Well I'm on here as is dd2, just waiting for dd1 to pop up now. Am not offended at all. Each to their own.
For me unlike most of mn I can't abide what to me are "old person" names. Elsie, Ivy, Ethel, Archie etc

Carouselfish · 03/11/2017 21:22

Joan I read a lot of Victorian novels and what sticks in my mind re. those names is that if the domestic staff had names considered too good for their station, their mistress would 'change' their name to one of those!!!

I don't like Georgia. Or George.

manicinsomniac · 03/11/2017 21:21

'Hate' is pretty strong. I think there's only three names I can think of that I feel that negatively about:

Agatha
Gertrude
Ursula

They just have such ugly, harsh sounds to my ears. But I do think that if I ever met one (never known a child or adult with any of those names) then I'd probably grow to at least just 'dislike' it.

Yeah these threads end badly. It’s just petty.

We all like different things and different names. The world would be boring if we were all the same 🤷🏽‍♀️

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 03/11/2017 21:20

Let's needlessly upset people, eh?

Odd thread.

Confused
EKLInTraining · 03/11/2017 21:20

This is the first time my name has been mentioned on one of these threads! I feel like I should win some kind of mumsnet trophy Grin

I'm personally not a fan of all the "old lady chic" names that seem to be coming back into style these days.

CherriesInTheSnow · 03/11/2017 21:19

I think these threads are a little mean spirited, plus we all know names, like most things, are highly subjective so what's the point, as every single name is going to have people who think it's lovely and some who think it's awful. So genuinely don't see the point in these.

Having said that (!) I don't like Robert at all. Nor Becky.

Or Keith.

overnightangel · 03/11/2017 21:19

Never ceases to amaze me how wrapped up people get in names . If that’s is all folk have to worry about life must be really tough .
Give your kid a name that doesn’t get them beaten up at school, job done

Caulk · 03/11/2017 21:15

There was a thread like this quite recently and loads of people ended up flouncing around because their name or their DC name was mentioned. It didn’t end well...

IggyAce · 03/11/2017 21:13

Hate names that are hyphenated, lily-sue, Evie-Lyn, Amy-May, Lilly-Rose and Jeano-james are just a few I've come across recently.

stopbeingadramallama · 03/11/2017 21:08

Jayden, kayden etc.

Anything -may. Or anything with a ‘-‘ in the middle.

I think Jack, Josh, Ellie, Abbey, Sophie etc.(all very popular names) are very boring.
