Teddy for a girl?

We don’t know what we are having yet, but I love the name Teddy for a girl.

I would use Theodora on the birth certificate.. so she could use Teddy, Thea, Dora or make some other name up if she didn’t want to be Teddy.

I first saw it on a tv show (Good Luck Charlie?) I think it was called. It’s an American show..

But I just love the name! What do you think for a girl?

Theodora is lovely, and gives her options if she doesn’t want to be Teddy as an adult.

I wouldn't like to be an adult woman called Teddy, but it's sweet as a nickname for a little girl

I dislike it, sorry. It feels like the name
of a toy, an object, not a person. It’s as twee as Bear.

I like Teddy, short for Edwina.

I don't like Theodora or for that matter Thea or Theo. But I think that's more because I'm in the SE, close to London, and they'd tend to be pronounced Fee-adora, Fee-a and Fee-o.

I have a Theodora, she goes by Dora though not teddy.

I really dislike teddy for a girl, it seems a little try hard.

Theodora is a lovely name. Teddy as a nn sounds a bit forced, to be honest.

My daughter is called Theodora and everyone calls her Teddy. We love it and it totally suits her. She is Theodora Kate.

I think it’s is far nicer for a girl.

I know a lady called Teddy. It’s short for Edwina in her case.

I have a friend whose 1yo dd was originally called Thea (pronounced Tay-ah) but everyone now calls her Teddi (with an i)
I'm not sure about it tbh.

Would be a bit of a pain for her now that Teddy is all of a sudden such a popular boys' name. Like a girl in the 1990s being called Jack.

Any name from an American tv show should remain on an American tv show. Teddy is AWFUL.
