Lovely baby boy Is now here! The trouble is I seem to find myself disliking all the names we had on the shortlist now....

I love the name Rowan but we already have a Rose- is this too similar? If it is too similar what on earth else do we call him?!

Lovely name for an utterly munchable baby. I think he would suit Hungry Caterpillar as a baby nickname...mmmn!

Congratulations.

BriechonCheese · 03/11/2017 00:07

Oh he is lovely.
Joseph is a great name.
Congratulations WineFlowersCake

We went with Joseph 🙂

Joseph is not that popular - it's just outside the top 20 and isn't a name that's on the rise, year to year. There won't be three in his class.

If popularity is the only thing holding you back, go for it I reckon!

Halfdrankbrew · 01/11/2017 15:36

Another vote for Joseph here, it was on our shortlist a few months ago, we had it for his middle name in the end. I like old fashioned classic names, Arthur was another on our shortlist too. I sometimes think we should have picked Arthur. It took us 3 days after he arrived to pick a name, boys names are tricky. Rose and Arthur sounds nice though Smile good luck deciding.

LucyPevensie671 · 01/11/2017 15:33

Congratulations- he's gorgeous! Love his little button nose!!

I think that Rosie and Rowan are too similar.
Rose and Jude sounds lovely! And like Fraser too!

Trevor

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 01/11/2017 15:29

Joseph definitely. It suits all ages.
Plus Joe is a great nn. If he prefers.
Yes Joseph is popular, but. Its not faddy.
Really don't like Fraser at all. Very dated.

MorningCuppa · 01/11/2017 15:25

Joseph is lovely, what a Handsome little chap he is, congratulations Smile

MissFlashpants · 01/11/2017 15:21

Fraser is lovely. And your boy is just beautiful!

Misspilly88 · 01/11/2017 15:20

I know a lowan?

ElizaDontlittle · 01/11/2017 15:18

I only know 2 child Josephs, one is 10 the other is 1. So not 3-in-a-class common.

But I think Fraser is a great name. His peers won't have a clue about Frasier - I know now it's about your peers but as a PP said about similarity for most of their life it will be about his peers. So that gets my vote.
He is absolutely gorgeous - congratulations! Flowers

NinonDeLenclos · 01/11/2017 15:13

Joseph/Joe - very, very common plus lots of female Jos too.

Fraser is very sweet. I don't like Rowan for a boy.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/11/2017 15:08

Joseph. Love it.

But only if you don't mind Joe!

user1471547122 · 01/11/2017 15:06

Got it down to 2 but keep going round in circles now! (DH sadly doesn't like Rowan enough to use it...)

So, help me decide from:

Joseph -too common? Will there be 3 others in every class he is in?!

Or Fraser -will it constantly get mis pronounced/ comments about sitcom Frasier?

Any help appreciated!

Lozmatoz · 30/10/2017 08:45

Go for rowan! You like it, do it! As an adult (which is the vast majority of their lives) they don’t be judged by how similar their names are to their siblings.
