Boy’s name Marcus or Charlie?

Hello everybody!
My partner and I are expecting our first baby in February, a boy! We are beyond excited but can’t decide on a name. A few of my favourites have been vetoed (Leon, Theo, Julian...) and the two names remaining on our list are Marcus and Charlie.
To me they are quite different... Charlie sounds to me like a name for a goofy, playful child and Marcus sounds more serious/artistic to me. Sounds a bit weird - I know :)
What are your opinions on this matter? Or some more name suggestions in the line of Marcus, Charlie, Leon...

I prefer Marcus . I see it as quite posh. Dh vetoed it as reminding him of mucous. Interesting to see others upthread said the same.

They are very different.
Marcus by a mile. There are far too many ie ending boy and girl names around. Much more substantial.

I feel like that^^ about Lucas - Lucas / Mucus. But not Marcus, which is lovely and not at all mucussy - so nerr Wink.

Fwiw, Charlie makes me think of class a drugs, but that's because I'm a bit immature (as demonstrated in the above paragraph Grin).

I vote for Marcus. I would love the name myself if it wasn't for our surname. Charlie I dislike- although I'm not keen on many names ending in ie as I think it sounds like more of a nickname.
