Katherine vs Zara

Considering Katherine (tbka Katie) or Zara for a baby girl. Opinions please and any other suggestions appreciated! I also like Cleo or Sophie but dh doesn't. Really like Elsa but older sister is an Anna so that's out!

Thanks everyone. It looks like Zara is the winner by a little way, agree it does have the advantage of having only one spelling. It's good to know bith the names are generally liked and not tons of them in every nursery.

I do like the nicknames Katie and Kate though still.... Undecided still but several weeks to go!

Zara.

Apart from anything she will have to say “Katherine with a K yes and also an E in the middle”. And in some parts of the UK they don’t pronounce their Ts or their THs so she would be
Kaffrin or Kay-ee.

Zara has no complications.

I too have a Zara so that's my fave Wink Katherine is lovely but I wouldn't shorten it to Kate/Katie.

I love both. You can't go wrong with either of them really.

If you really pushed me to choose, I'd say Zara. Simply because it's a short, neat name like Anna.
