This is for a second DD I don't yet have! Just met a Daphne recently and have been slightly obsessing over its loveliness. But don't know what connotations it has for others.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TeaAndToast85 · 24/10/2017 18:56

Reminds me of Jack Lemmon in Some Like it Hot

Callamia · 24/10/2017 18:54

Oh blackcats! I know a grown up Daphne Viola. Are the sisters that you know Eastern European?

I think it's lovely.

dotdotdotmustdash · 24/10/2017 18:53

I also think of Daphne Broon! Not a name that would make my top 1000 list.

Dusktilldawn · 24/10/2017 18:52

Really awful and outdated but not in a granny chic way.

VodkaPenne · 24/10/2017 18:50

I love it!

FluffyMcCloud · 24/10/2017 18:46

Oh I love it!

LemonScentedStickyBat · 24/10/2017 18:44

I love it

Curlyshabtree · 24/10/2017 18:44

Sorry, I think it’s bloody awful. Makes me think of a fussy, overbearing, chintzy MIL

DryIce · 24/10/2017 18:42

I love Daphne. My husband isn't keen, sadly. Also my baby was a boy! But still...

It sounds lovely, is classical, unusual without being absurd and I think has excellent nickname potential

TheNumberfaker · 24/10/2017 18:34

Scooby Doo!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/10/2017 18:27

How about Delphi ?

sinceyouask · 24/10/2017 18:14

It's not a name I'd choose.

Cockmagic · 24/10/2017 18:11

I love Fraiser but don't like daphne sorry.

AnyaMoondial · 24/10/2017 16:52

PandaCat · 24/10/2017 16:29

I just think of Scooby Doo! It's a lovely name.

HoratioNightboy · 24/10/2017 16:23

I think of Daphne Broon, and just picture someone fat and frumpy.

ohbarcelona · 24/10/2017 15:46

I love it! Daphne Guinness does come to mind though.

Mrsknackered · 24/10/2017 15:03

I love it

Lunathemoon · 24/10/2017 14:52

I know a Daphne nn Fifi

SemperTemper · 24/10/2017 14:28

I absolutely love it but DH said no way. Apparently it's a name reserved for 80 year-olds Hmm

I especially love the way it looks written down.

MaMisled · 24/10/2017 14:28

Love it! If I'd had another DD she'd have been a Daphne but had to settle for naming the cat it!

NameChange30 · 24/10/2017 14:25

Love it. Underused!

KoalaD · 24/10/2017 14:24

I don't, but I love Dahlia.

honeysucklejasmine · 24/10/2017 14:24

Love it. Would have used it but DH's GM is called Daphne and didn't want people to think that was why.

LiviaAD · 24/10/2017 14:23

I think its beautiful, very classical, reminds me of laurels
