Kyson or Zendrick for a boy

Both names are really unique, as I said... Zendrick is my favourite.

I actually was the first to say Kendrick (confusing it with Hendricks gin).

I also don’t mind Kendrick, like Kendrick Lamar.

Out of the two you mentioned, I’d pick Kyson.

Kyson sounds like the latest addition to the Kardashian clan.

Zendrick is godawful as well, but at least it doesn't fit in with the Kendall/Kylie/Kim brigade.

I like the suggestion people have made of Kendrick. Makes me think of Kendrick Lamar, who seems pretty cool (am not a huge fan of rap).

I think you should choose a name which is actually a name op. Your child will thank you for it in the future.

But you asked - and you are getting honest answers, which you are unlikely to get from people around you as they will be nice (whilst thinking what we've said). - because to us they sound silly (on a UK based site where they rhyme with the best selling vacuum in the UK and a popular gin brand) seriously it is that simple.

Yoonique names tend to get this kind of reaction both here (openly) and IRL (privately- or not). Surely better to not ask if you don't want to hear the answer & just call your child whatever you want?

Plus most people joking about it will have assumed you were a troll, apologies if you aren't, but regardless the reaction still stands surely?

Zendrick, definitely.

Kyson is too close to Tyson, and Tyson is never a good name choice (apologies to any mothers of Tysons out there.)

But google reveals these ARE made up names, with no cultural origins or significance.

If you're not in the UK and don't have anything in common, culturally, with most of the members here, why on earth would you post a thread like this here and then get upset at people's replies?
Because MN is known for being blunt and at times brutal on names and in a weird way it must ge very satisfying for some people to start threads they know will get a reaction and then do a massive drip feed on page 2 or 3 so that they can shout at anyone who cruelly wasn't psychic about a fairly important piece of information.

Op statistically the most popular names are only given to 1 in 50 babies. So only 2% of the school would be called "Oliver". In my ds school in his year, there is one Oliver and one Olivia. Out of about 100 kids.

Are you aware of Dyson? A brand of vacuum cleaner? Kyson sounds similar. Plus abbreviations such as Ky - well KY is a brand of sex lube. So probably not a great choice in the UK anyway.

Zendrick, I've never heard of sorry. A google shows it's a surname generally.

Zendrick is just so cringeworthy. As though you think it's zany to use a Z at the beginning of a made-up word.

Please don't name your son those words. It'll be embarrassing for him.

And also OP- you are being very rude yourself- you don't want your son to have the 'same name as 30per cent of the others'. Normal name not good enough for you.

That's fine. But don't be surprised if/when people think thr name is made up.

At the end of the day if you had said 'I'm not from the UK and there are 2 names from my culture fhay mean a lot to me. Which do you like the sound of best?' then i have no doubt you' have had very different responses.

Well there are millions (MILLIONS!) of non-white-western names from all sorts of countries.

My kids aren't Caucasian and have names rooted in a different culture. But they are rooted in a culture.

People are rude, here, on baby name threads. But for better or worse it is what people think of the names.

I think I prefer Zendrick, especially if it can be shortened to zen.
Kyson is ok. It seems easy to spell and pronounce but I am not as keen on names ending in son.

I agree with the OP. People on this thread are pretty pathetic and definitely not as hilarious as they seem to find themselves. Not everyone wants a boring name. Personally I quite like Zendrick and think Zen is pretty cute for a nickname too.

Well what one person thinks are rude and disgusting answers someone else thinks are a fairly honest reflection of how those names will sound out in the real world.

Both are pretty terrible....

Well feel free to give your child an 'original,unique' name then. But don't put your suggestions on a forum and expect not to get opinions.
