Kyson or Zendrick for a boy

My husband and I can't decide between these two names! We are both 50/50. Which name do you prefer?

But to my ears it doesn't particularly matter if the names are made up. They still sound fine. They're not cutesy, they don't have any yoonique spellings. I'm assuming the names are blended or put together from the names of relatives. It's not an uncommon thing to do. Pollyanna from the book is a made-up name. Cora, Olivia, Wendy, Pamela were all invented by authors, as just a few examples. Vanessa is a blended, invented name - by the writer Jonathan Swift, who put it together from a surname starting in Van and Essa, a nickname from Esther. We've accepted all of these.

I have googled zendrick several times in several different ways.....and it apoears made up as a first name. There are a few (very few) with it as surname.

Not and exhaustive search, granted.

But it seems to not have any cultural significance at all. So i would guess OP, is mistaken or making up names.

I actually think both these names are OK, even if I've not heard of them before. I'm in a very muliticultural area and no-one would bat an eyelid at either of these names. Neither of them sounds weird or invented to my ears, even if they are. I'm not so keen on Kyson, but Zendrick sounds fine to me - and I rather like it.

Both ridiculous names and I don't think for one minute this thread is real but in the spirit of joining in I'd go for Dyson or perhaps Kendra.

WTF is a Caucasian name?

I've heard names related to faith eg it would be unusual for Christian parents to call their child Mohammed. I have heard names linked to or common in a particular language and I have come across names linked to places such as Jowan in Cornwall.

I know some names are more common in some cultures but it is cultural not decided by skin colour. Or at least not in the UK.

The problem is, OP, that they both sound like established names but with the first letter changed. Are they common names in your country?

Out of Tyson and Kendrick, I prefer Kendrick. Out of Kyson and Zendrick, I dislike both equally.

Fuck it. If you want an unusual name, double barrel both of them and make everyone laugh.

If you’re not from the UK but live here and you’re getting feedback from the people that are, they’re probably just being truthful and not rude.

The names you’ve chosen do sound made up.

Depends on whether you want to be strange. Strange is OK. I once met a family with six children with star wars names.

Then there's the posh who have so much confidence in themselves that even Sequin will do.

If you can pull it off go for it.

Bible (any other culturally religious books) and Shakespeare are probably not so stupid though.

I quite like Zendrick!

A good friend of mine has a DS named Zen (Zen being his shortened name). It actually suits him beautifully.

Something can’t be REALLY unique
Something is unique or it’s not. Language matters as do names which people are stuck with (unless they change them which is a faff)

Both sound completely made up and classless. I'm sorry... I have a very unusual name and I hated every single second of it and it's not made up, it means "singing" in Hebrew
