DD1 has a name heavily associated with Puritan times. Now expecting DC2 so am looking for suggestions of names that have a puritan vibe to them for both boys and girls.

I quite like Delilah, Constance, Tobias and Gideon maybe

Clemency is beautiful but the few I’ve known tend to get called Clemmie. Which makes me think of clammy.

This has just popped in my head!

Patience is a virtue, Virtue is a grace, and Grace is a little girl who doesn’t wash her face!

Constance

NatMatCat · 16/10/2017 22:17

I wouldn't go for another name with an obvious meaning, although I do love virtue names. Cecily or Esther would be good.

I wish more people would choose Clemency over Clementine when they want to use the nickname Clemmie.

Tigersteeth · 16/10/2017 22:05

Fly-fornication?

timeistight · 16/10/2017 21:43

Continence, that has a good Puritan ring to it!

IHeartKingThistle · 16/10/2017 21:38

Sorry to interrupt but does anyone remember the baby names thread years ago when someone said they knew triplets called Faith, Hope and Kevin?

Want it to be true so much!

I love Clemency too :)

Delilah. Ummm, nope, not very Puritan!

Repentance or Fornicate-Not.

Loveisthelaw · 16/10/2017 21:22

I have to say my immediate thought on puritan names was something along the lines of Praise-God Barebones, but otherwise Clemency is nice.

LongDivision · 16/10/2017 15:25

Abigail
Myles
Thomas
Mary
Anne
