DD has been watching a TV show that has a male Wren in it, she likes it for DS. What do you think?

Is the programme pretty little liars? I love the name wren after watching this Smile

MikeUniformMike · 13/01/2020 19:59

Awful. It's a bird.
It is nicer than Pigeon.

PlantPotting · 13/01/2020 19:29

Love this name for a boy or a girl

This is a zombie thread. What did you decide @frackley

It’s a Welsh boy’s name, it’s quite popular here in Wales. I think it’s beautiful, ignore the negativity!

wetpebbles · 16/10/2017 09:35

It does sound like a girls name.

TonicAndTonic · 16/10/2017 09:33

Not a fan for either sex I'm afraid.

Zoesweet · 16/10/2017 09:25

Wren as it is spelled can be confused with Ren but if you have a special meaning to it then I don't see any reason why you should not go with it.

seven201 · 16/10/2017 09:18

I definitely see it as a girl's name

KoalaD · 16/10/2017 06:32

No. Bad for a girl, worse for a boy.

abiirthdaycake · 16/10/2017 06:21

Has your DD actually finished Pretty Little Liars yet? I won't spoil anything but Wren probably isn't someone you'd want to name a child after!

SemiNormal · 16/10/2017 00:11

I love Wren for a boy. I knew the name would be from PLL as I loved that show (until the final episode where I wanted to reclaim the last however many years of my life)!

I'm thinking that actually Wren for a boy (and Ezra ... another characters name) will be really popular the next few years.

Buntysoven · 15/10/2017 23:51

Ooooh not families discussing baby names instead of random strangers! Whatever next? Get a grip

Kellyturnbull · 15/10/2017 22:55

Kevin bacons character in Footloose was Ren McCormack. Always loved his name and I grew up loving the film. I think the names great for a male.. I also watch pretty little liars though so I've heard it more for a make than female, great name for either sex :)

SnowiestMountain · 15/10/2017 22:49

Ren is ok, definitely not Wren for a boy.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 15/10/2017 22:47

I think there are more suitable birds after which to name your son.

Chilver · 15/10/2017 22:47

Ren for a boy.
Wren for a girl.

I like it.

chocatoo · 15/10/2017 22:47

I think it sounds a bit 'weak'...can't imagine a big strapping rugby player being called Wren.

lollipop7 · 15/10/2017 22:45

My girl is Wren. I know it's unisex but it does have a more feminine feel to me. ( well, obviously 🙄🙄🙄)

whitehorsesdonotlie · 15/10/2017 22:44

No. Just no.

Bue · 15/10/2017 22:40

I know a boy Wren. I'm on the west coast of Canada though. Here it's not out of place at all.

wobblywonderwoman · 15/10/2017 22:37

Helen George named their baby Wren. I think it is lovely for a girl.

FAkenameforthis · 15/10/2017 22:35

No.

Marcipex · 15/10/2017 22:33

Too soppy.

Mischa123 · 15/10/2017 20:01

I know someone who has had a boy called Wren in the last month or so

ladybirdsaredotty · 15/10/2017 19:01

I quite like it but maybe as a shorter version of a longer name, as mentioned by others.

Don't get the angst over siblings suggesting names. My 3 and 6 year olds are suggesting for this baby. Obviously we have the veto and will go with what we want in the end, but it's nice for them to feel involved. Especially at 17, I'd imagine!
