If I like Nicholas

Mercutioandtybalt · 01/10/2017 10:40

What else?

I like

Edward (can't use as DS1 is called Edward)
Nicholas (nephew's name)
Hugo (doesn't go with surname)
Louie (ditto)
Wilfred (DH says no way)

I don't really like

William (just too blah)
James (too commonly heard)
Thomas (as above)
Oliver (too common)
Samuel (it is ok, but so many lf them.)

Any suggestions ? Smile

Earnest? Ernest makes me think of Ernie Wise.

Nicholas is good.
Sebastian? Adrian? Nathan/Nathaniel? Ethan? Daniel? Miles?

For DC2, I liked Nicholas but also Hugh, Roland, Timothy, Patrick, Robert. I think we had finally settled on Hugh Charles although I was secretly leaning towards Roland Aubrey but then DD was born. Probably best since Hugh with our surname is a bit rude - think Miles Long.

For DC1, I liked Robert, Charles, Paul (awkward in my non-Brit accent) but then DD was born. Whew!

DH has many men in his family so lots of names are in use.
ex: Simon, James, Henry, David, Roger, Martin, Richard, Christopher, Graham

I have a Jonathan. No one else ever seems to use the name, yet it is ordinary.

Most names in a society with its roots in Christianity, have religious links.

Chrisinthemorning · 01/10/2017 13:42

We have a Nicholas.
Also on our list were Matthew, Benjamin, Andrew, Nathaniel and Josiah (after Bartlet Grin)

So no Biblical names then?

Mercutioandtybalt · 01/10/2017 13:19

Jonathan's a bit religious.
