Please help me decide on the following girls names:

Poppy
Lily
Hettie
Edie
Lottie

Not concerned about having a longer name on bc so won't be considering Charlotte, Henrietta, Edith etc.

Hettie or Lottie

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 30/09/2017 14:50

If no longer name then Lily.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 30/09/2017 14:48

I like Edie, as I had an incredibly lovely Aunt, with this name, and Lily.

ChocolateCrunch · 30/09/2017 13:12

I like Lottie and then Poppy

INeedNewShoes · 30/09/2017 11:22

I like all the names for a child but feel that as an adult they might be too cutesy.

My parents named me the short version of a longer name. It has been a source of irritation to be honest. Officials ask my name, I say it and they say oh 'we'll put your real name on the form' and I have to correct them and explain that I'm only the short version of the name. It also gave me no options for choosing a short version myself.

So for that reason I would go with Poppy.

If you're not having a longer version then personally I would definitely avoid Lottie and probably Hettie too. The rest are nice - Poppy and Edie are my favourites

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/09/2017 11:01

Poppy

BewareOfDragons · 30/09/2017 10:53

Lily is the nicest name on that list, but it is still wildly popular around here... I know quite a few with: Lily, Lilly, Lilah, Layla, Lyla, Laila.

I can't imagine wanting to be anyone older than 10 with any of the other names...

MadameJosephine · 30/09/2017 10:49

If you're not considering a longer name then I would go for lily or poppy as they aren't short for anything else, the others sound like cute diminutives for a little girl but I wouldn't choose them as a name on their own

Caulkheadupnorf · 30/09/2017 10:48

Poppy as they rest feel like shortenings or nicknames and Lily is too popular IMO

Starwhisperer · 30/09/2017 10:47

I like Edie, not at all a boys name. I assume it's pronounced Ee-Dee not Ed-Ee?

I also love Lottie as I have a little Charlotte myself who goes by that name.

SleepFreeZone · 30/09/2017 10:46

Hettie. Lily is so popular where I am.

notthegumdropbuttons · 30/09/2017 10:45

Poppy. Lovely name

MeriReu · 30/09/2017 10:44

Ooo I love all of them!

I like poppy & lily best

pipilangstrumpf · 30/09/2017 10:43

They’re all a little too cutesy fo me personally, but if I had to choose, probably Poppy.

Edie looks like a boys name, short for Edward
