A sister for Aurora

DD1 is Aurora, trying to think of a name for baby no.2 if it's a girl (we have a boy's name - Rufus).
The only names we have vaguely agreed on are Liberty & Arabella but I don't love them like i loved Aurora when we chose it.

Liberty sounds very Destiny

NinonDeLenclos · 20/09/2017 17:42

Love Aurora, congrats on a great choice.

I think Aurelia is too similar and will get confused.

I like Artemis, Cosima, Tatiana

Aurora and Nova

Someone from my NCT group has girls called Aurora and Sienna.

DH vetoed Aurora and Arabella (which were both on my list). Our front runner is now Sabrina, which I think would sound nice with Aurora.

Regarding nicknames they often happen spontaneously, you don't have to plan ahead to engineer them.

I love pps suggestion of Albertine!
Zachary?
Alexander (Xander)
Caleb?

Lyra?
Evangeline ?
Celeste?

Personally I'm not so keen on Elspeth but my taste is always a bit dodgy anyway!!

DuggeeHugs · 20/09/2017 06:03

Elspeth is lovely - makes me think of Esme.

My first thought was Astrid when I read your OP

highinthesky · 20/09/2017 03:32

Avoid Estella unless you want the poor child to be labelled when her class gets round to reading Great Expectations. Ah the innuendo! Starting with Sextella...

Apple23 · 20/09/2017 01:54

Amilie or Emilie
Estelle
Natalia (Tali)
Persephone (Pip)
Phoebe
Victoria

You could still use Luna, unless your children visit your mum virtually every day. Little Luna would love having the same name as Nanny's cat and the cat will be long-gone by the time she is an adult. If you don't have the same acquaintances, then people you know won't know your mum's cat's name (which is a bit random) if you don't tell them.

Phoebe would sound lovely with Aurora - nice celestial theme too.
Celeste / Celestia
If you like Alba, what about Albertine?
I somehow don't think Elspeth goes that well. For me it's in a completely different style.
I actually like Liberty! I don't think it's "chavvy" as a pp said. George Osborne's daughter is called Liberty I think (well, whatever you think of Tory ex-politicians, chavvy he ain't Grin)
