If we love Hugo and Rafael, what girl names would we love?!

We are trying to choose a name for our daughter and finding it difficult, although for a boy we have two names we really love. We would go for Hugo for a boy, with Rafael as a close runner up. Just hoping that someone might be able to suggest some equivalent girls names that we might love. We like Hugo and Rafael because they seem easy to pronounce and we really like them phonetically.
We do have a shortlist but we are a bit confused about it all and any opinions would be very gratefully received.
We are also strongly considering using Willow (probably as a middle name but not ruled out as a first) to honour my Father (William).
Our shortlist is:
Rose
Florence
Rafaela
Allegra
Talitha
Claudia
Romola
Lauren

Thank you so much!

Matilda, ultimate posh name imo, sorry we never got to use it, Tilly cute nickname

Alisvolatpropiis · 29/10/2017 01:06

I thought Camilla, purely based on your thread title.

Love Allegra, gorgeous name

How about Antigone, Aurora or Aurelia?

Unicornberry · 28/10/2017 21:26

I know a sibling set including Hugo, Raphael and the DD is Tatiana

poppoppophop · 28/10/2017 20:39

I love Claudia. What about Imogen or Josephine?

Aldetha,
Adeline,
Miranda,
Amelia

I am only 5 weeks pregnant but if we have a boy I love Hugo Jonathan and for a girl she would (possibly) be Florence Rose. Or Florence Lily.

I think Florrie or Flossy is a cute nickname. Florence Willow would be lovely too! I'm not sure about Claudia or Rafaela but out of the two I would choose Claudia with a softer middle name- Claudia Rose maybe? Smile

Mum8 · 27/10/2017 06:27

How about Valentine or Clara?

Smoliver · 26/10/2017 22:51

I like Rose, Florence, Claudia and Lauren from your list. I also really like the name Willow - pretty name and great family meaning for you.

How about...
Margot
Hazel
Paloma
Dorothea
Flora
Cecilia
Elodie
Gabriella
Isobel
Oriana
Clarissa
Lucia

PinkFlamingo888 · 26/10/2017 22:51

I like Rapheala Willow our of those two. I think Rapheala and Elodie sound nice together whereas Elodie and Claudia both have a similar d sound which makes them sound similar to me

Thank you so much to everyone who has commented. I think the front runners now are:

Rafaela Willow; or
Claudia Willow.

We have liked Rafaela for longer (and I think my husband is not 100% on Claudia ATM) but I feel like Claudia perhaps sounds better as a sister for Elodie somehow?

I’m considering adding in Rose as an extra middle name for DD1 (Elodie) If so, then Florence might come after Willow as an additional middle name for DD2.

I have massively overthought this and am now pretty confused TBH and nothing is seeming ‘perfect’ or ‘right’. My husband is also liking the name Pia recently!

So hard!! Any thoughts hugely appreciated - thank you again to everyone who has taken the time to comment - I really appreciate it.

I like Allegra as a sister to Elodie name.

Allegra is lovely and I also love Romola from your list - unusual and pretty.

In fact it's a lovely list altogether, you can't go wrong.

Couple of random suggestions to add:
Gaia
Cassandra

I just wanted to say a huge, huge thank you for all of these great replies. I really appreciate everyone who took the time to reply and I wanted to reply to everyone individually, but didn’t realise there would be so many responses! Thank you so much.

Of the new names suggested we really liked Cecily, and Persephone was another on our list which we ruled out as being a bit much. Cecily also perhaps doesn’t work with our last name unfortunately.

To the people who suggested Wilhelmina, I agree that it’s closer to William, but to me it’s not a pretty name, so I don’t think I could bring myself to use it, so I think we might stick with Willow as a middle.

I should also have mentioned that we already have one daughter, whose name is Elodie (I have really stressed myself out A LOT over her name - struggling with the English vs French pronunciation has been a real issue for me, so I’ve chosen names this time that I find easy to pronounce)!! I’m still finding it an issue and she is 19 months - sometimes I still think she should have been Rose or Rafaela 😬

I would love to know any opinions on the following as a sister for Elodie:

Rafaela Willow (Raphaella/Raphaela) “Rafa/Raffi”
Allegra Willow
Claudia Willow

There’s also the option of adding Florence or Rose as an additional middle name. Rose is a name I really love that I think I might regret not using.

An American friend also mentioned about Allegra being an allergy medication there - hence us possibly ruling it out!!

Thank you so so much again for all of the amazingly kind feedback - very much appreciated.
