We're finally down to a reasonable amount of names on our shortlist
We're not looking to add any others to the list

We've got a while to decide yet (due January) so I'm not in any rush to find 'the one' just wanted to see which was people's favourites and if there's any glaringly obvious connections or connotations from these names that I'm missing?

I'm pregnant with DC2 and if we have a girl she'll definitely be callee Harriet. Such a wonderful name! Just love it xx

I love April, never hear it (also wanted to name the baby January if he was a girl, because of his January birth. But aprils conception date as pp have said) love season/month/days of the week names

Emily -kinda ubiquitous & vanilla atm

Lydia -cute, also more unusual

Harriet-love that old kids book "Harriet the spy". It's uncommon and sounds very whipsmart

Erin- pretty, idk about there but it's super Irish over here

Not necessarily a bad thing but if you’re seriously considering Lydia you need to either read Pride and Prejudice or watch the bbc 90s tv
Version (with Colin Firth!!!).

That features the infamous Lydia Bennet.

April - not a big fan of this name, but that's just personal preference.

Emily - this is pretty but is quite popular right now.

Erin - really like this name. I think it's cute.

Harriet - not a huge fan of Harriet. I do like the nickname Hattie though.

Lydia - love this name. Would have used it myself if I didn't have a friend who has used it.

I couldn't get beyond Lydia Bennett. I'm sorry op but she is a very selfish shallow and vain character!

I absolutely detest Lydia (sorry, as you can probably tell, it provokes quite a strong reaction!) Partly because it's such an ugly sound & partly because I've never met a nice Lydia - all 4 I've known have been horrid people which does cloud ones judgement a bit I suppose!

All of your other names are nice though Grin. I would choose Erin or Emily.

They are all ok but Emily is too popular - especially for women around 20 yrs old. Lydia is nice but Lyds is vile.
I'd keep looking.

Actually Lydia isn't common. It was only 100th on the 2016 name list. Definitely not common.

I think Emily's lovely Smile I get all the comments about it being overused but perhaps by the time your DD is born it will be so overused no one uses it iyswim

April - weird if not born in April
Emily - love this name, but too popular atm
Erin - would assume Irish heritage (do you have?)
Harriet - lovely, not too popular (I only know one)
Lydia - reminds me of the dance teacher in Fame (showing my age ...), but nice and unusual
