And though Finn is lovely, there are are quite are quite a few about.

Yes, Finn and variants would have been 17th, just above Freddie (though who knows what would happen if I added all those up Wink). I can't believe there 3468 Leos! I've only ever met one Leo and I'm a teacher.

I still prefer Finn though Grin

Wow, that's a lot of Finns!!

Doesn't anyone else think of a person from Finnland when they hear Finn? Like a Dane, a German and a Finn....

If you add up all the Finleys, Finlays, Finnians, Fintons, Finns then there are a LOT of them!

in 2015, there were 3251 apparently (can't believe I just added them up Grin - I should be cleaning the kitchen!) Finley was by far the most popular, with 1978.
There's some interesting ones in there too, but only 24 Findlays. The only 'Fin' variant I know is a Findlay.

Dexter. It's a very cool name. I don't think the tv series link is a big deal

There are tons of Finn and variations on the name around (although it is a nice name)

For all those saying Dexter is more unusual, in 2015 Dexter was the 79th most popular boys' name with 850, whereas Finn was 126th with 512.

My little man who's 6 weeks old is named Dexter. We also had a lot of people who either associate it with either the serial killer or the scientist ;), didn't care though as we love the name and it suits him, plus he gets called dex most of the time!

Dexter!! It's so gorgeous, I know a baby Dexter and whenever anyone hears his names they oooh and aaah over it because it's just so sweet!

I love the name Dexter. Yes, it does have serial killer connotations, but these will probably fade over the years (long before your DS understands). Finn is a bit over-used for my liking at the moment.

I think some people have a tendency to overestimate the popularity, reach and longevity of television shows.

Dexter is much cooler than Finn.

I must be old too because Dexter to me means Dexter Fletcher, and I blimmin love Dexter Fletcher.

Surprisingly I like both, never used to like Dexter thought it sounded quite hard but I'd probably say Finn you may also like Flynn?
