Kit or Kitty?

For a girl, please don't suggest a full long name like Katherine, etc i really don't like those. Which would be better to put on BC, Kit or Kitty? Thanks!

Don't think either of them are appropriate names. Sorry. Absolutely fine for nicknames or short forms but not as a given name.

I have a Kitty, short for Kathleen which was a family name but seemed to 'big' a name for a newborn. Kit definitely says boy to me but I may be biased.

Kitty is a little too kitty catty for me personally. Too cutesy for a grown woman. So I would put Kit on the bc.

I'd say Kitty, Kit's more masculine.
Never understood why anyone needs 'options' with their name. There's always deedpoll if they really want the 'long version'

Kitty. I know 3 Kitty's, the eldest is 24, the youngest is 10. I think it's known enough that people wouldn't tease her for it. I don't think name teasing is as common these days as there are such an array of names used.

If you don't like Katherine /Catherine how about Katya or Katie for Kit/Kitty? Just to give her more options.

Thanks all, i was actually swaying more towards Kit, as although it's a boys name, i thought Kitty could be made fun of more? I suppose with either she could have the option of both as a nickname

Dd3 is Kitty and occasionally her siblings call Kit (no concern about it being masculine as she's as feminine as they come. She'd make "Dave" seem feminine).

Kitty is lovely for a girl. If I saw the name Kit I would assume it was a boy.
